Can someone give me a literal real world example of how "Philbin should've known!"

He should have pulled a Piers Morgan/Rupert Murdoch and hacked the phones of his players to mine for information.

Martin is a hero in all this. He got the bad guy, and now Ross needs to get rid of enablers, unless he is one.

We're all of course entitled to our opinions. I'd like to think that mine which is that Martin is no hero is confirmed by concrete evidence. If he were a hero he'd not have chosen the same prank he perpetuated on Gardner 2 weeks before to throw a hissy fit, bang his tray for theatrics and storm out for newsworthy maximum effect. Nor would he be seen partying often with Incog in the 6mos since those voicemails. At best he's a naive dupe whose strings are being pulled by parasitic lawyers trying to build up the ante and at worst he's a conniving and contriving co-conspirator who will burn everything in his path so long as he gets his payday. And could well be a suicidal, rage-filled drug abuser too, so we'll see about that.

Bottom Line: there are no heroes in this clusterfork.. only morons who bring this upon themselves.

From what Sapp, LT and Billick said there is enough staff( eqt managers, trainers, strength coach) that work daily in locker room that would have picked up on this and reported it to Philbin. It is the process of checks and balances so to speak.

They all said someone knew and then Philbin should know, but if he didn't it's a even bigger problem.

I don't think the word Ni**a is racist, however spell it with an "R" and that would be.

Honestly... The only blame begins and ends with Incognito... Period. If he doesn't say those things NONE of this happens... His words are what made this issue litigious... And His words are the only credible proof so far that abuse occurred.

Those words are what's going to cost Mr. Ross money... Right now it is only a question now of how much.

Make no mistake the Dolphins and NFL investigators are not driving to discover who is at fault they are ONLY trying to determine and limit the teams exposure... If it proves to be serial abuse they will try to shift as much of that liability onto Incognito as possible... but there is no way in hell they are getting out from under this. Not with those texts and VM's on record... and NO it doesn't matter when they were sent.

How is it an even bigger of a problem to Phiblin if Martin didn't tell anyone? Hell, Martin's own teammates said they had no idea he felt this way. There is not one person in the Fins locker room or organization that has backed Martin's story that Cog's bullied him in all of this, yet many of them have backed Cogs. Why, if Martin made a complaint to the right people in the locker room is no one talking about it? Why is there not an official report to the players rep about Martin/Cogs as that is something that would need to be kept on record? My guess is Martin didn't tell anyone, he flipped out last week after being demoted to RT, and now is looking for a reason to save face no matter who he takes down with him. His football career is already over, why does he care if he ruins anybody else's.

Now this doesn't make what Cogs did right, but there are much further connotations, that as of now we have no idea about.

Like I said in another post once this story has passed we will basically confirm what we already know, Cogs is a meat head will horrible people skills and Martin is an overly sensitive ***** who can't handle a little hazing. Hazing which needs to be pointed out Martin inflicted on other players as well.

Yup. Two words that came to mind for me yesterday. Witch hunt.

It's disgusting. But since Richie is a known ******** who is on tape using the n-word, it's OK to have a witch hunt.

New rules, folks. Witch hunts are only bad when they are against political or social groups the media identifies with.

There's so much truth here that it's scary.

AND, if you are part of the political/social groups which the media blesses, you can lie, deceive, and basically destroy the fabric of the country -- and be treated like an idol.

That underlying media reality is big time at play in this story, imo.

3) Philbin is so out of touch with his team it is scary, a coach is suppose to have a pulse on the locker room and it seems as if he s clueless to the situation.

I'd still like to know what Philbin was supposed to do here. What action should he have taken if he met with Martin and Martin didn't disclose anything to him?

That's all just an assumption. If that happened you could liken this to a cover up. If no one ever saw Incognito treat Martin poorly, I don't see what else could've been done by the organization.

So you provide a sarcastic answer. I too would like to know what Philbin should have done differently.

I see a lot passionate fans turning on one another for their inability to accept differing opinions. In some circumstances, "bullying" one another to believe a certain viewpoint.

Freedom is based on respect for your fellow human. Happiness is based on acceptance.

There is so much wrong with this situation. But by attacking one another we are only approving of their behavior.

If we truly do not want this to hurt our team, we shouldn't let it hurt us.

Philbin is not a hands on guy and definitely not a micromanager so I believe him when he says he had no previous knowledge of the situation. Turner the position coach who spends all day with these guys was surely aware of the situation and should be held accountable for letting it get out of hand.
Once Martin wigged out the cat was out of the bag and Philbin , Jeff and Donna probably did as JDY said and tried to limit the monetary damage to the organization infuriating Martin's side and leading to the public relevations.
Richie's history was an easy target.
No winner here guys. Everyone loses. Richie is toxic now and can not be welcomed back onto the team even though i think the racial stuff was overblown. Martin may get his money but what team would want him now ?
The staff and organization gets a big black eye and maybe more when the NFL guys investigate the situation.

i really don't think this affects the other guys on the team as they will focus on the job at hand so let's move on and away from this soap opera.

I understand what you are saying, but by all accounts the players seem to want him back in the locker room and on the field. If the Dolphins plan to fight allegations of bullying and racism in the organization, basically defend Cogs, though a trial, which seems inevitable right now, I see no reason why they couldn't let him play again. Especially when his teammates want him back.

Nothing. I'm joking. I don't think Joe Philbin is responsible for what's going on here if this was never brought to his attention.
