I could easily blame the same players and coaches as most here...and I do...but I warned fans here that I didn't see any offense in the preseason...I didn't like the fact that the Dolphins were only acquiring an average of appx 14 points each game...against teams that were playing mostly 2nd's and 3rds...and cast offs.
I don't see the Dolphins offense good in any aspect of the game...are they a running team or a passing team? Do they have an identity? I sure don't see one.
I could easily blame Pennington...but he's not the ONLY reason why the Dolphins played so badly....the running game with the exception of ricky sucked...no trying to paint a pretty picture...the receivers again....are a joke...how can no one get open...play after play....the O-line...another expensive joke...did someone tie Long's shoe's together?...and Carey...was he worth the new contract? How come the Dolphins always have the best coaches for O-lines...but the Dolphins O-lines suck?
And I saved the best for last....the O.C....surely he can call a better game...or is it known to him that the offense is just that bad and he has to use trick plays to try to get something going. Trick plays have their place...but not to be used as the main stay...or just in case...mode.
So where do we go from here? I would say try Henne...but God he's no better...he's just as bad as Penny holding onto the football...and he has no mobility...to me again...he reminds me of Bledsoe...strong arm...lousy feet...a pure statue. I wish I could see something good in the near future...but it's only a hall mary...and unless something really changes...it's going to be a long long season.
