Does having a 'system' implies that you need to release all the players that don't fit into it? Do we really need to redefine our entire roster just to sastisfy the 'cam system'?

What will we do when he leaves?

I think we should choose the best talented athletes, not the ones that best fit the 'cam system'

The answer to your first questions is YES.
The answer to your second questions is Cam will be around for quite some time.
I think you shouldn't think becuase that makes you look bad.

Cameron is well known for adjusting his offenses to suit the talents of the players he has. That should tell you all you need to know about Culpepper and his imminent departure.

every coach has a system. every coach that takes over a team adds the guys that he thinks fits best. every coach gets rid of the guys he doesnt see fitting in.

when he leaves? hopefully that wont be a problem for a while. when he does though i fully expect for the new coach to add and subtract players for his system.

dont you think the "best talented athletes" would be different in each coaches eyes? since each coach runs a different system?

Look he's not Saban. He'll be here for a while. I don't see a college coming up with the shady green and luring him away. Like I said " he's not Saban"

A talented player in the wrong system will look average.A shark is a fierce hunter in the ocean, but how good would he be in the desert? Why put a square peg in a round hole if you dont have to?

Good point not to all Dol phans though.
Remember what Bum Phillips used to say about Don Shula (winninest NFL coach at that time). He can take his un and beat yours um and take yours um and beat his um. Western slang that Shula could adapt to his players regardless of who they were and beat the other guys players because he was a great coach who did not need great players to win. Thats why Bill Parcells while he has done some retooling where ever he has gone has won with many of the players he inherited. Anyway we are going to see soon if the Cam way works or he will be out of here.

Yes
Yes
I have a good feeling that Cam will be here for a long time
You need the right players, not the best players.

It's not a foreign concept. Some teams are running teams, some are passing teams, some are ball-control oriented, some are defensive minded, some run the West Coast Offense. Is that really that big of a surprise? Look, not all coaches are Wanne-stubborn. If they're smart they'd obviously adjust to the personnel on hand if they cannot aquire guys they would like to work with.

I mean seriously, what would you rather have? Would you rather have a pot-luck of players and ask some coach to sort the mess out? That's why teams run systems. It provides foundations, order, and structure.

Dont think we should cut people just cause they dont fit the system if they have tried the system yet

I think that we should have faith in the regime to determine whether they even need to take it that far.

Look, you and I only know the surface information. These guys are in and around the game. They boast the credentials to make decisions like these.

Our offense wasnt very good last year. Its not like we had the most talented crew and now they are all gone.

Other than Mcmichael, maybe welker, what super talented players did we dump just cause they don't fit the system?

If anything we let go some of the average players and are replacing them with other players who are fat least faster some smarter and may turn out to be better.

Maybe, but our cuts so far have been mostly external and sort of unimportant ones, a few O lineman, and MAYBE C-pep, who didn't really play last year, and McMike who was a surprise cut.

I think a coach has the right to build a team the way that they want, even if players who maybe shouldn't have been cut get cut.

How many players have we dealt or cut have come back to bite us on the backside?

Tony Martin in 94 comes to mind.

Besides keeping or obtaining players to fit his system, Cam seems to be going after players with better character (with the exception of Joey Porter). As much as I dislike the Pats, they seemed to build their team with mostly unsung/unselfish players (though hopefully the recent pick-ups of Stallworth,Moss, etc. won't pan out).

And where are those best talented athletes? Miami's in short supply of those.

Every coach brings in his own players. If your just realizing that now you've slept thru the J.J., Wanny (albeit a JJ offshoot so not 'as' much diff), Saban and now Cam.
