The change we all have been waiting for happened...

Agree with LD. Don Jones is a good punt gunner and our team needs a good punt gunner real bad right now.

As well as helping kickoff return coverage. We're hurting in both areas -- sign of the overall talent of a team, where the cupboard has been picked clean for years.

What make it head-scratchingly weird though is that when there is actual talent to be had even at the lower points of the roster, it's like they intentionally choose the least-talented, least-upside person over and over again -- I guess it's related to the entire problem: inability to see talent in game-time situations, drafting for certain subjective variables and then valuing practice *consistency* in a controlled environment over game-time ability (where the bullets are flying and real talent shows up quickly, and lack of talent gets exposed over time, big time).

The only real playmakers and high-level players on this team (outside the potential of Tannehill, whom I believe would be a good QB w. proper development and tools) have been acquired in FA.

I think the problem was Jones not playing well on special teams in preseason, and not showing enough at safety, after the Aikens move, to justify a spot on the roster.

Agree on FA. Some don't like it but . without it, we would be a total disaster and picking at the top year after year. Not sure if that would have been a bad thing. We keep being mediocre with it, and have not yet chosen to re-build on a full scale.

I saw this and my first thought was that we resigned Tyler Thigpen.

Now, no! Moore I think gives us a higher reward/risk for the rest of this season. Tannehill has had over two years under his belt and has regressed rather than improved.

Well, I would argue, as you said about Thigpen, we know what we have in Moore.

I like Landry's explosiveness back there. There is a higher risk/reward with him returning kicks. He's a rookie and hasn't had much experience doing it. With Thigpen, we already know what he is. There is not much hope for improvement.

We might have been to explosive. I think this is a wise move to calm us down a little. Too much excitement is not good.

I think after the bye week we complete the move. Thigpen will be activated for the Packers game and Landry will be moved to the practice squad. That'll teach the cheese heads.
