The Chicago White Sox Thread

I know, just hard to see a guy like that leave you know??

Oh yeah, I get that. Frank I think is a HOF player he was great for the Sox. It was time to move on though. I think he's washed up but I think in the strike season he was going to do great things and that White Sox team would have been very difficult to beat in the postseason. I'm trying to remember but the Yanks were playing well that year but I thought the Sox/Expos would've played in the world series and would've been a very good matchup. Sox came back tonite and Jon Garland has pitched better although he gave up 4. I think he'll have a better 2nd half and I think that Ozzie is trying to "save" some guys for the 2nd half and not wear them out like last year. Garland/Garcia/Buehrle ate up alot of innings last year so I think limiting what they do right now maybe the right thing to do. If the team can get another reliever to take the place of Hermanson I think they'll be in great shape; or if he can comeback. I'm definately a Sox fan but I don't think anybody can beat them in a 7 game series. They've improved their hitting and have not played as much smart ball this year but I think they can when needed. Uribe is too good defensively to sit but they need Anderson to start playing better offensively. Boston can give them trouble if Schilling/Beckett are healthy but I think it's a wash with Contreras/Buehrle and I really like the way Dye has been hitting the ball. It's still extremely early but right now I think they're as good as any team in baseball regardless of record. Boston and Chicago are the two teams in the AL that would benefit the most from winning the all-star game also.

Nice read bro.
5-4 come back in extra innings was a good win, Vasquez gets the ball tomorrow. He's a little shakey, but as soon as he settles down and gets more comfortable he will be a more dominant pitcher.
I didn't see why Ozzie got tossed, what happened on that???

Icephinfan,
Ozzie got toss because he was arguing balls and strikes with Dough Eddings.

Big win today against the A's, Thome is crushing the ball and the pitching is doing great.

White Sox beat the Blue Jays today avoiding the sweep.I like how Ozzie went off. He needed to fire this team up. We are a much better team than what we are showing.

32-17 is not a bad record at all. I think it was a little premature the team does have the 2nd best record in baseball problem is the Tigers are playing lights out.

And it is still early, if we were past the all-star break then I would be a little nervous.

Tell you the truth man, I am still hyped about our WS Championship, if we don't get back this year, I won't be to upset. They got the ring, the other half of me wants a back to back though.:D

I will be upset this team is better than the team that played last year. They played alot of ball last year so I think Ozzie is being very cautious with the players so they don't go through the dry spell that happened at the end of last season.

Yeah, I know, they'll be okay. Just got to pitch better and get into a good rhythm.

I think they need to get Politte going. Jeff Nelson is not the answer. I think the guy who needs to get going is John Garland, but I think he'll be much better the 2nd half. Also Freddie Garcia has good numbers but always seems to pitch down to the competition. Anderson and Uribe also need to be much better offensively. I can't complain about Podsednik/Pierzynski/Konerko/Crede/Iguchi/Dye.

Yeah, I don't agree with the Nelson signing either.
Politte needs to seriously get going, McCarthy should be a reliever right now.
Our top dogs need to settle down and get going , Garland and Burhle.
