I think the coaching choice for this team is as tricky as drafting a quarterback in the first round. It could make you or break you. You think you have the sure thing, but it ends up being a big mistake. Why not a Capers or a Jim Bates or maybe even a Mora? Do you really know how things will turn out? I wasn't sure about Saban when we got him. I bought into his concepts, believed in his intensity, and then what happens? Saban the Lion turned into Dr. Phil, and then turned into Alabama's head coach. I just want to see someone in here with passion for our Dolphins. Someone that knows talent, and who can bring out the best in all those around. Maybe that's not in just one guy. Maybe a football executive and a head coach? I don't know. There are a lot of opinions on who should be here, but I'm not that sold on any of them. Anyone else feel the same?

well thats a game but if i was hueizenga my two top guys who would compliment each other and provide the leadership that this paticular dolphin team needs, my choices would be Mike Singletary as our head coach and scott pioli as our gm,let mike motivate these players to the best of their ability while pioli picks the players for him to motivate.

I agree with you...I would much rather have a coordinator with NFL experience than a college coach or an NFL retread. Pioli would be at the top of my list and I would dom whatever it took to get him if I were WH. Singletary would certainly bring a fire to the sideline but I think I'd prefer a HC with a tilt to the offensive side of the ball.

Who dosnt want that? No Dom Capers, 2 time failure at head coach. Personally id love to see Bill Cowher here if the compensation isnt too bad, 4th or below if thats possible.

No way you get the Chin for less than a 1st round DP.

That is the most important thing to me, but then again I am idealistic and in a perfect world loyalty and intensity would be for the franchise and not the dollar. I hope that we can find someone with the complete package and not just a facade. Someone that NEEDS in the core of his body to be the Head Coach of The Miami Dolphins. Not just because it is a great business decision ($$) for his future but for this great Franchise that we love the Miami Dolphins. Intensity, Loyalty and the feeling of honor to take the reins of this Ball Club and lead us to the promised land! :dolphins:

I don't think getting the coach is as important as getting MUCH better players

Disagree....

Rooney and Wayne are old pros and long term owners, and prob have a certain level of respect for each other... if wayne says no picks 5 or 10 mil and we'll call it a day, Rooney may just take it knowing its 10 mil cash or nothing.

The guy is still under contract so it would take some picks for sure. Gruden cost the Bucs two first and two fourths I believe (something ridiculous like that) after his SB season.

Two firsts and Two seconds but thats ridiculous, The Cheifs got Herm for a 4th and i believe that the price of that type of deal has gone down and the value of draft picks has gone WAY up.

Herman Edwards wasnt still wanted in NY. Gruden was still wanted in OAK. and more importantly, Cowher is still wanted in PIT.

Dolphins officials interviewed defensive coordinator Dom Capers, and traveled to Minnesota to talk to Vikings defensive coordinator Mike Tomlin.
