The Cold truth on how our offseason will go the remainder of the way

Thank you for enlightening all of us. I thought this board was for fans to post messages/threads on for their enjoyment. Beings you have so graciously dictated the rest of our offseason for me. I will go to sleep and wake up for the draft.

You people just don't get it. I'm not making bold predictions here. The guys I labeled are high priced and we can't afford them.

Sure, you throw KC's name out there. We are going to incorporate a 3-4 for part of the time next year and our current personnel isn't equipped for that. you bring in a carter and holliday as bandaides until we can draft or get our young guys ready to take over their spots. as of now we had nothing to put there.

My whole point was I highly doubt we will spend money on a big name player either thru a trade or FA. It's that simple. We don't have the cash to do it. If we restructure a few players now to be able to do it, then we are in cap hell next year and the year after and are stuck doing this all over again.

all i'm saying is to use your head. the writings on the wall, sorry if you can't read it or refuse to look at it.

Whos talking restructure, cut!!!! Cut D Bowens or trade him for CHEAP the mo fo its expensive, wont take a paycut and its always whinning, thats 2.2 millions off the cap enough to keep Surt.

Notice he has CHARLES XAVIER's pic there. He IS a mind reader!

Wow changing our stance are we? First you said its the truth and now your backing down into speculation. The writing is on the wall bud, you have as much of an idea of what is going to happen as me. Which means you and I know jack crap of what Saban is thinking.

How do you know if we'll trade down or not? It will depend on what kind of offers we get during the draft.

As for the predictions at the top of the thread, at least one will not come true, and very likely three of them.
Since both the Yucs and the Vikes are now salivating wideouts, and considering there are just two elite ones(Edwards and Mike Williams, with the Yucs really wanting Williams) one of those teams will give us a trade offer where we get their pick(5 or 7) and some extras. I believe that will happen. I actually believe in the end that Suratain will stay with us. I do believe that we do stand a pretty good chance of landing Sharper(remember we do not current have a starting safety on the roster).

I actually agree with what InMyChambers is saying. Yes, some of those things may happen, but commen sense says it won't.

Sorry to rain on everyone's parade but chances are InMyChambers is right.

We are lucky we managed to sign this many people with our cap situation. I do think that there is a chance one of these events will come to pass, but the only one that I could forsee is signing Sharper (but that is only if he accepts a very low salary).

Sure, we could restructure everybody on the team, but the Titans this year and the 49ers last year are proof that cap sorcery does not work in the long run. We forget that cap manipulation is what got us into this mess in the first place.

In case you didnt know Boston signed with the 49ers so of course we cant resign him
Really? You have a link?

I agree. We're not going to get any of those players and I don't want Edge or Alexander. But I disagree about drafting a RB with the second pick. I think something else will happen on draft day.

Everyone is constantly bringing up these ridiculous threads about players and what we should do. I'm so sick of having to sift thru the entire site to find a few nuggets. People need to chill out and realize our offseason will not be hard to predict the rest of the way and it will go like this:

-We will NOT trade for E James
-We will NOT trade for S Alexander
-We will NOT trade for D Darius
-We will NOT resign D Boston
-We will NOT sign P Burress
-We will NOT sign D Sharper
-We may or may not trade P Surtain, but if we do it will be for a draft pick - no better than a 2nd. We will NOT receive a player in return.
-We will draft a RB with the #2 pick. We will 99% sure NOT trade down for additional picks.

I'm not arguing that it wouldn't be nice to have these players and I agree they could really help us. But the reality of the situation is is that we DO NOT have the cash to make these moves. The entire reason we are getting rid of Surtain is because we will not be able to afford him, not becasue his level of play has diminished. How do you justify losing a high priced player with exceptional skills for another when the entire reason you're making the move in the 1st place is for financial reasons. Use your head people, we simply don't have the cash!!!!!!

When you give up a draft pick for an established player, not only are you giving up a lot of money to sign that player, you are also giving up part of your future that you would have had if you drafted the younger player. Also, the younger player would come at a much cheaper rate.

I guess I look like a genius now to some of you. And to some of you I say a big...... F.U.

All bow down and praise thee. Just kidding. Bottom line, it didn't take a brain surgeon to figure this stuff out. People just like to hope and come up with other scenario's without thinking with their head.
