The Cost for the Phins to Trade back into the 1st- Omar Kelly

Why? We hit on about 0.01% of 2nd rounders. Might as well accumulate 1st's.
Why? For the very reason listed in OP, you get top 100 talent for less cost. There's talent across the board. Someone is getting great value for their picks, Jimmy Graham for example. With more picks you have better odds.

We have a new coaching staff with plans in place and ideas about what sort of players they want. We sure didn't aswer questions with free agency, they must be targeting players in the draft.

would be nice to trade down the 8th and trade into the 1st as well with other late round picks, so we may get 2 1st rounders and won't loose too many picks later, considering we usually miss in 2nd rounds.

Damn draft, get here now.

trade down with philly at 15, get #51. Trade back up with a second and a third. walla. Tannehill....meet your new TE target.

why the heck you moving up for martin??? when if he comes here he plays right tackle...i'm not moving up for any right tackle and paying that kind of price...martins more a left tackle prospect imo anyways

fleener and wright i'd move up for that...i love barron but i think reshad jones can play a solid strong safety...although i think barron would be a nice pull...but he's not getting to #20 anyways
I was listening to an interview on NFL Radio with DeCastro and he said Martin can play RT and has. He's athletic and a good fit for the ZBS. It's a high price but we'd have a heck of a pair of OTs on the squad. I just want this O-line fixed. Tired of talking about it every year and I can't understand how it is that we haven't fixed it. Of course now we have to draft a different type of O-line since we're going ZBS rather than power running game. Every other team in this league takes their LT in the first round, their RT in the 2nd or 3rd round and their interior lineman are mostly 5th, 6th, 7th or undrafted free agents and somehow we can't figure it out....just fix the dang thing and lets move on.

Anyway, I'd rather have Wright, Fleener or Barron but I'm not getting angry if Martin is there and we take him.

A trade up for Blackmon followed by Weeden later on would actually make my day!! If Osweiler comes in the draft...he could be a sleeper late pick?

didnt phiblin say he wants to build with the draft.no major FA this year would make me believe we do what phiblin has in mind and this will prob have us trading back

If we miss out on Tannehill I'm cool with moving into the late first to grab Weeden - otherwise he will be gone too... depending on the price to move up of course.
We have so many holes that staying put or trading down a bit would help fill some holes too so it's a tough call. It really depends on how it plays out - it's going to be a decision made on the fly - if a guy we love is dropping a bit I can see us moving up to make a play for him.

I think we will either stand pat, or try to trade down to acquire more picks....no way we can trade UP. That is not happening. I think if Tannehill is there at #8 we take him, unless someone calls us and offers us a deal with can't refuse.

I'd trade back into the first if Floyd starts sliding. I wouldn't mind doing it for Wright or Fleener too though.

I absolutely hate when people post that crap because nothing could be further from the truth. That actually isnt true if you're comparing actual difference makers and pro bowlers

1st round rules. Look up the percentages. the 2nd and 3rd round COMBINED don't even accumulate for half of the elite players found in round 1 over the years (that became great in the nfl)

If you want a bunch of plugs and crappy middling players like Koa Misi (2nd) and John Jerry's (3rd) filling your holes then thats your prerogative, as thats what you'll mostly find in those rounds -- but elite talent wins. Give me two Hakeem Nicks over 8 Misi's and Jerry's, because my team will be better with better overall talent , as I can easily find plugs that can do what they can by other means anyways

The biggest misconception is acquiring more picks in the 2nd and 3rd in move downs would be a good move. NOTHING could be further from the truth. You trade back up into the first round if you can, because the percentages are HEAVILY in your favor that you'll land a difference maker

The draft is all about acquiring the best talent. And it's ALOT harder to find very good to elite talent having a 2nd and 3rd combined (TWO picks), than it is to find very good to elite with just a mid-to-late 1st rounder (one pick)

What about trading our second and two thirds to move up in the first and trade back and add a second and 4th..

We would have
1st
1st
2nd
4th
4th
5th
6th
7th

Draft could look like
1st Floyd
1st Perry
2ndOT
4thCharles
4thHilton
Rest of the draft BPA

What would yall think of that?

I would rather stand pat and wait for players to fall, or trade back 5-8 spots for an extra 2nd or 3rd round pick. Trading up for who?
Tannehill will be there at #8 if we want him. No one will draft him 1-7 IMHO.
I think we should think about Fleener at #8. I think he will go to Seattle at #12 if we don't take him there. The TE is the Qb's best friend. Fleener, Clay and Fasano would be awesome targets.
My pick options at #8 would be(in order) TRich, Blackmon, Fleener, Tannehill, trade back.
