I think Saban passed on Rohan Davey (a player he admires - See his book) because he wants him to find another team with who he is going to have a chance to get a roster spot. Saban wants to sign Couch as a 3rd string QB soon, so he won't take Davey (and insult him) and release him a couple days later.

Sage = Rohan
Tim > Sage

What do you think folks?

That definitely has to be Saban's plan! Good thinking.

Couch is different from those two, he doesn't have an arm. Rosenfels & Davey do.

Take it from a Clevelander ... Couch got a raw deal in Cleve.

He, if healthy, would be the best QB on the Dolphins roster.

I am not saying he is the 2nd coming of Marino, but he would fit in nicely .... especially if the O-line gels.

Too late to add a guy like him and expect him to produce.

If the Dolphins dont pick Couch up they will be making a big mistake! I'm sure they will get him at a good price,and for Couch it's not about the money! He just wants to play and he does have the talent,heart and toughness to play the game!!

If it was prior to training camp it would make sense, but not now. We have to go with what we got. Even if we did grab Couch, how succesful would he be getting third string snaps after missing the entire off-season recovering from his throwing arm injury????

I am so done with us picking up older Qbs who may or may not work out for us. We need to get youth at the Qb position to groom. As consistent as Sage is, I would rather us use the 3rd string for a developing Qb like the Saints are doing with Macpherson, and the Bears were doing with Orton.

JMHO i dont think he would be signed for just getting third string snaps ! Saban is looking for someone to move up and be better than what he has. And from the looks of things that wouldn't be hard for Couch or.... to do!
