i think he handled it ok. anyone who's ever fired someone or been fired knows that it's always gonna be awkward and uncomfortable.. plus this was in front of cameras.. i felt a bit sorry for chad in the end though, even though i wanted him cut

I do feel bad for Chad, in the sense that I'm human and here is a guy that wrecked his life in a matter of a couple days. He lost his job, they cancelled a show he was in, resulting in who knows how much lost income. Then his wife files for divorce. That's a tough week for anyone. Chad seemed genuinely enthusiastic about playing for the Dolphins, too. I just hope he was smart enough to handle the money he's made over his career and isn't the next T.O.

I thought the part they cut was about CJ offering Philbin cheese burgers in order to get his job back...

I'm sure Philbin didn't know what it meant, but wearing a "Young and Reckless" shirt certainly was a nod to the audience at home that Chad will never stop being Chad.

I wanted Chad to do well because it seemed like he always wanted to play for the Dolphins. However, I would rather have someone who isn't drawing attention to themselves all the time - at least until they start making plays. I did gain some new respect for Sean Smith watching him covering Chad.

The guy's an idiot. His twitter picture was something to the effect of 'I don't give a F*ck' shortly after Philbin chewed him out. I just hope the guy signed a prenuptial. I knew that girl would be trouble.

You could tell how uncomfortable philbin was with the whole process. He was constantly figiting, crossing his legs and moving his arms and hands.

It was a blessing in disguise. He was going to be a problem all season IMHO.

Am I the only one who felt that Philbin could have handled that better? Don't get me wrong, from what I've seen so far on the field, I like the guy as a coach. I just really can't stand how he kind of dances around his point and fumbles to find the right words. He's not a straight shooter when it comes to news like this and he seems uncomfortable in this whole situation (e.g. tapping his hands and fingers). Maybe the cameras made it different than it would have been, I just couldn't help but think of that scene in Moneyball where Brad Pitt tells Jonah Hill how to cut someone. Philbin's way of going about it was not the way I would've. That's not me saying I know a lick about how to coach a football team, that's me saying as the son of a therapist () I know how to confront people effectively.

Cant blame him.. Isnt not the easiest thinkg in the world firing someone.
