"The cut scene" -- Chad talks with Philbin.

Is Chad Johnson on the team any longer? No? Then it seems to me Philbin handled it fine.

?? REALLY?? So if Chad would have shown up and Philbin would have pored tar on him and dumped feathers all over him and ran him out of town, like they did the Swed, on "Hell On Wheels", you would have been fine with that also??

I thought Philbin handled it fine. It's hard enough to cut a guy but to do it with a camera right there has to be brutal.

Yes because if you read between the lines that's exactly what Gonzo said.........

Might want to use the spoiler alert feature for those that haven't caught up on the show yet. Then try making sense.

Should he have held his hand while telling him he was no longer on the team? Maybe give him a "it's not you, it's me" Hallmark card? He handled it fine. You guys can nitpick how he communicates to the players all you want. I've already seen that he can organize an efficient practice. Next I want to see if he can manage a game. How he communicates to players when it comes to discipline and especially cutting people is the least of my concerns.

but what if he moves his shoulder to the left 30 degrees while saying the word "unfortunately" ??!? IT SHOWS WEAKNESS!!!!!!!!!!!! He's WEAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I won't even mention the fact that Philbin looked at his shoe 3 times during the conversation. That's 2 shoe glances too many. I'm not happy!~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't wait to get home and rewatch the scene in slow motion. I need to count the number of times he blinks to get the whole picture as to what kind of coach he is.

The coach handled this just fine. If you are comfortable firing someone then you are not human. He showed compassion, and Chad verbalized that he was appreciative for the opportunity. The end result was final and the goal was accomplished. It was not confrontational at all. I appreciate the coach more after watching this episode.

glad to know that philbin isn't going to put up with trouble no matter who it is. good sign
