Hey Finheaven brothers, tonight on Aristocrat SportsNet we will be having a discussion on Ryan Tannehill and if it is worth it for the Dolphins to invest a huge mega contract in him. I know that more Dolphins fans than not would prefer for the Dolphins to stick with Ryan, but there are plenty who do not feel this way. The show is going to start at about 10pm and you are more than welcome to join the conversation as it is happening live! If you can't catch it live, it can be found in the podcast section.

You can watch the show at aristocratsportsnet.com, which was just launched last week. Please like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter. Hope to see all of you a little later tonight! Thanks!

he has been the best QB we have had since Marino left, and you say dont re-sign him.......yeah right......he his the future.....period

A fan base that lived thru Dan Marino were spoiled and expect that all the time.

Also the single greatest talent at qb couldn't win it by himself. So the team building aspect shouldn't be shot down.

A no brainer, in my opinion.

My thoughts is id pay him his money . He's is OUR guy. I want Tannehill to be a Dolphin... We can't let anything but that happen

After the first three games of the season, Tannehill was the fifth ranked passer in the NFL. That's impressive and even more so when you consider the continuing problems on the offensive line. I'd invest in Tannehill and build around him.

One could very easily debate either side of the argument... as there is pro's and con's on both sides..

Being an old guy, I've seen Dan Marino from his rookie year all the way to his retirement year and I can say without a shadow of doubt.. Ryan T cant even hold Marino's jock strap.. but that doesnt make Ryan a bust either.. Ryan is improving and learning, where Dan came out of the gates on fire and really didnt stop until his heel injury..

So to anwer the OP's question.. I'd try to lock him into a 3 year contract with options and then re-evaluate in 2018...but there is no way I would sanction a big year, big dollar contract right now.. The guy just isnt that "GREAT" yet... IMO

I guess IF we could lock him into a 3 year contract that would be great... but why would Tannehill accept that with the market like it is? The reason that teams are giving QBs money is because they are looking out there and seeing that:

1. There aren't many good QBs likely to be available; and
2. The price goes up for them every year.

If I were RT I wouldn't take 3 year deal unless it was a lot higher than the going rate to offset the risk of injury - especially with our crap OL.

Then make it an incentive based 3 year contract with the option for longer
