I have been noticing that alot of "DOLFANS" seem to want a QB who can throw 70-75 yard lasers instead of 25 of 32 completions per game and that is kind of bothering me! so let me get this straight nobody wants Pennington because his arm is weak but they will take the Joey Harringtons and David Carrs, Whos career completion % dont come close.

Chad Pennington
8 yrs pro
65.6 completion%
82/55 td/int ratio
88.9 QB Rating

David Carr

Joey Harrington

I mean who else do you want Rex Grossman, Quinn Gray? For you guys want the deep ball go to New England, Cincy or Indy!!!! I WANT WINS!!!!

nobody wants pennington cause he sucks, not cause he cant throw that far. all those qb's u listed are all scrubs and i dont want any of them around this team.

With all of the rule changes favoring receivers in recent years the deep ball has become a necessity.

Last year there was about 5-6 deep balls thrown to Ted Ginn that were just SLIGHTLY in front of his fingertips. If any of those passes were caught....they are 6 points...I think another year of practice together and Ted Ginn will be snagging the deep ones from John Beck. But who knows...

unfortunately, pennington is better than anyone we have at this point

I don't see to many people calling for Joey Harringtons and David Carra. And I don't know too many people calling for Pennington either. You say you want WINS!, well those will come once we find someone to hit the wide open Ginn 50 yds down field, b/c until then we will see 8 in the box and all out blitzes just about every down. So yes, please find me someone who can hit the deep ball.

Let me be Clear on this, next year Miami will be a Run Heavy team with our O-line better with the run than the pass our QB will be averaging 17-22 pass attempts per game and i hear u guys wanting that 50 yd bomb but look at it from a logical standpoint!

Where are all these clamors for a QB that can throw the "deep ball" you speak of? I haven't seen them. I know people want a QB who can just plain throw the ball and win, but that's about it.

I agree with papahotel on that this upcoming season we will be a run-heavy team with pounding running backs and a big physical Parcells o-line, but until we get a good size QB who can make all the throws (short and deep) with ease and isn't ready to retire when we draft him because he's already like 40 under center, i'm probably not going to be happy

I'm not a Pennington fan, perhaps only because he is a jest, but I certainly would take Pennington, with his noodle arm and injury history before Carr or Harrington. At least Pennington has gotten the job done, if only periodically when his shoulder lets him throw...those other guys seem to have had chances and just not been able to get the job done...I was a Carr fan prior to his stint in Carolina. Living here, there is mainly Panther coverage and Carr just never could get the job done....

That said, with Henning as our OC, it wouldn't be a total shock to see Carr come this way...As to Harrington....been there, done that...

Pennington shrinks the field which results in poor space for your running back to run because defenses are playing closer.

I'd rather have Beck than any of these guys. Beck is getting better, and they are all headed downhill fast...
