The defense should shut up

YaYaYa... ****s happened b4... but the thing u dont realize... is they were on the field too long... the D was tired... is not choking or anything... its just we ****ed them up by making them stay on the field tooooooo long!
Then maybe you can explain why they were still playing like a superbowl defense just in the series just before the last Cincy drive. They didn't just suddenly get too tired to make the stops, they are inconsistent. We have seen it before although some refuse to admit it.

I think thats not enogth time to be so tiered, in the the Tenn game they were but not in this, they simplie don´t the way they need to play in the most important part of the game....

ALso I think that Baltimore and Tampa had very bad offense, and they sure pass some time in the field but they play well in the right moument...

lookey here...the 20 yd completion to Johnson which put them in FG range was made on Jimmy Wyrick not Madison or Poole. This is because poole got the wind knocked out of him and was forced to leave the game for one play by the officials. If the O did not give up the int/TD we won. Plain and simple. Who's got a response to that.

Keep in Mind I think Feely is gonna be good and I love Mcmike, Chaber, Booker. I am no O basher just tellin it like it is!

A very important point to take note of. Was the offense horrible? Yes. Should the defense have been able to hold on 3rd and 8? Yes, but, has any defense in history ever had a FIFTH corner who could shut down Chad Johnson? I'm not going to excuse the defense of all blame because they certainly have failed to step up at times in the past, but when you're playing with two back-up DT's and your fifth corner is playing as your second corner, it's a little harder to defend.

the D has given up 19 points in 2 games
the O has given up 14 points in 2 games.:shakeno: :shakeno:

what the f....k is the D crying about:confused:

maybe you should call baltimore and find out how they stay in games with that new QB and lousy offense, or how about tampa bay guys or even new england earlier in the season last year, you win games anyway you can and the defense is the reason this time
Three answers, in order: Billick (SP?), Gruden, and Belichick.

BTW did you guys see the 60 Minutes piece on Belichick and other championship type coaches? Sure was interesting to listen to those guys. I didn't hear near the cliches and same old-same old I hear when they interview DW.

The D was out there a lot but let's not forget that Cincy went 3 & out almost as much as we did. The D wasn't out there long... i think the time of possession was almost equal wasn't it? Our d is good... but they don't come up big in big situations... who cares how good they play all game... if they can't come up big when it really matters then the mark still goes in the L column... hence 0-2.

great defensive teams do not get tired when it is time to win a game
They do if they've been on the field for virtually the entire game....I don't wanna hear anybody blame anything on the defense...cause if you are, then you're just stupid...Giving up 3 field goals in a game is one hell of a performance. Just because our offense can't do a dam thing to anyone and we lost cause of it, don't go hating on the D. I was proud as hell of the D.

what some people fail to realise is that this is a team sport. you can`t expect the D to do everything. yes the D fold a little at the end (though they didn`t allow a TD), but why don`t you blame the offense for not scoring a TD in the previous drive. in fact the O didn`t move the ball. the FG was made because of a good kick return.
even NE`s Defense folds sometimes but they have an Offense to help their D

bottomline is the D sould`ve played better in that last drive but they can`t be blamed for the loss. in fact, our defense saved us from a sure blowout.

The D has every right to be pissed off after the performance they put on so I don't know what you are smoking dude. The line is pathetic, AJ cracks under pressure, looks afraid at times. I would also be pissed if I was Chambers, all that ability and nobody on that side of the ball who can help him show it.

The Defense gets paid alot of money to play football. Maybe they should keep their mouths shut and play football and leave the offense to the coaches and staff. This is a team game. Everyone knew this going in. With the salary cap, it becomes extremely difficult to be excellent on both sides of the ball talent wise. The best way to win is to stay with the team concept. If that means that the Defense is going to have to win most of the games for us then so be it. It doesn't help anyone to have our own players yelling at eachother when they make a mistake. McMichael's outburst was different. He was lighting a fire under his own unit. Sam was piling on our QB after a mistake. Big difference. Sam knows defense. He does not know Quarterbacking. That interception returned for a TD was more about Chris Chambers running the wrong route than AJ throwing the errant pass (Chambers admited as much). Yelling at your future for a mistake will not help the situation. He was wrong and he should stand up like a man and admit it.

You are correct the D played very well. However once the game was on the line the D failed. This is a long trend of this D. Plays great until they game is on the line and then they cannot make a stop. Its a trend that goes back several years.

Hell every QB would be afraid when on just about every pass and even some running plays you had 2 and 3 250LB+ men running at you full speed UNBLOCKED.

CC and AJ are not on the same page yet.

Jesus, piss and moan piss and moan. UUUNNNCCCLLLLLEEEEE! Enough already! We are 0-2 not 0-8! Fix to friggin things. 1. O-line has to block PERIOD. 2. Lamar can't dance in the backfield. Are line is not blocking good. He must hit the whole fast and hard PERIOD. We can't go 2nd and 13, 2nd and 14. WE CAN'T. Fix those two things, are ship sails straight.

Maybe Jim Bates should play defense for 60 minutes instead of changing up the scheme when it really counts. How often do we see this defensive scheme let up in the 4th quarter playing prevent.

"The Defense gets paid alot of money to play football"

and they play way better than the Offense,

so you might think the O is allowed to played worse because they get less money

"This is a team game"

"the Defense is going to have to win most of the games for us"
