What I noticed !!!

I was watching the Giants play on Sunday, and the reason they bring so much pressure rushing 4 is because they use different schemes to confuse the OL and QB. The Giants defense works like an Offensive Line opening holes for another DL or LB to sack the QB.
Sometimes Tuck could come from the middle, right, or left..But they are very successful rushing just 4 which help them big time in coverage

When I look at our defensive line, we don't have any schemes...We only bull rush and count on Joey Porter to beat his guy to hopefully get a sack.

I would say that coaching is definitely an issue on this defense.

Im sure talent has nothing to do with it.... :/

That's why when Nick Satan coached the Dolphins we had the #5 defense in the league.
He actually required his players to work harder mentally than physically.

I agree completely; there is almost no pressure or precense up the middle.

Matt Cassell realized that as well.

There are a few coaches who need to fired. ST's and DL for a start.

It would also help to acquire smarter players, like Myron Rolle for example.

We lost last Sunday because of the DL, they were awful, no pressure at all.

They rushed four almost every down and got no pressure, even when they blitzed.

yes, but not 4 down lineman, they rushed four yes.

LBers are where the pressure needs to come from. unfortunately. other then joey, our LBers are very bad at rushing the passer.

Well basically we only rush the olb's. Roth has been ok basically similar but slightly less than what Joey was last year. Our De's as whole have not really got to the qb but merling, Langford are still young and learning. I like the potential of our pass rush. would like to see moses play more though.

the giants pass rush really help their DB's...our lack of pass rush hurt our DB's

Ozzy rules!!

pressures rarely going to come from the DL in the 3-4.

The DL performance was in large part that the fins abondoned the 3-4 alignment. They were in 4 down most of the day, in nickle and dime packages.

I dont blame the DL because they did get pressure.

What I blame was the decision to play so much man coverage. It was the big pass plays that beat us.

Our safeties played inside in the middle of the field, our corners were 1 on 1 many times. Fins decided to take away the middle where Welker roams, but gambled against randy moss...and lost big.

You dont need sacks, pressures and hits are just as effective sometimes.

Cassel played great tool

I agree. I think Moses has a lot of potential. That is why I think we may not go DE/OLB as early as everyone thinks in the draft. Moses is still learning the OLB position and may take a little time. If I remember correctly, it took Lamarr Woodley a few seasons to become what he is now.

this is only lamarr woodleys 2nd season. and he played well in spot duty for the steelers in his rookie year. i knew he was going to be a good OLB in the 3-4 from the beginning. hes a beast.

Sorry. I thought he was drafted in 06.

Moses has been around for 2 or 3 years, it's now or never for him.

This is Moses 2nd season, this half the problem with fans that expectations are far higher then what is even realistic. Not all players become probowlers within two years and when they don't we don't need to be throwing them out with the trash.
