Jeff Ireland brought everybody in the building to the Scouting Combines this year because he knew how important this Draft was. As we all know, the Dolphins owned the 12th overall pick. The Dolphins also had 2 picks in the second round. He traded up to get Dion Jordan who had and still has a bad shoulder, giving up a high 2nd round pick in the process. At this point none of this years Draft picks will make an impact on this team with the exception of K-Celeb Sturgis. If the Miami Dolphins finish with a record any worse than 10-6, please make a case as to why he should get a new contract.

:bobdole:

Dion Jordan will be making the case for him soon enough. Then some of you are going to have no choice but to get real.

Jprdan hasnt played a down...give him time. And the little time h has played he did it welll

1) You dont draft players for what they can do their rookie year, you draft them for the following 10 years.

2) Ireland made the correct call. He did what GM's are suppose to do: make the best decision for the franchise, even if hes not around to enjoy the spoils.

3) Your right though, Ireland doesnt deserve a new contract, but it has nothing to do with this past draft(although im not pleased about passing on receivers). It has to do with passing on Jimmy Graham for John Jerry and drafting Daniel Thomas over Justin Houston, Randall Cobb, and Stevan Ridley. Things of that nature.

4) That said, Ireland will likely return barring a complete collapse. Ross is invested in him and truly believes we are heading in the right direction.

Ridiculous logic ............ judging a draft before da Phinz play one real game is nuts, ridiculous...... come on Man :-)

You are going to feel really stupid soon enough. Dion Jordan is going to be a star for the Dolphins.

Matty I @TheMattyI
Some "scoopage" by @ArmandoSalguero, stating he's hearing buzz from the team that "[Dion] Jordan's first camp has been a disappointment."

Yes because a first round draft pick should always be judged 3 games into preaeason the first of which he looked really good in a

Dion Jordan is expected to start practicing again this week and be back for week 1(when the games actually matter). He will make an impact this season, as will many others in this year's draft class. You say only Sturgis will have an impact, yet Will Davis has been ripping it up in practice and the preseason. Dion Sims might be "starting" in week 1 and guys like Taylor and possibly even Thomas will have a role this season.

Are you in "doomsday" mode because Jordan is missing some camp time with his injury? I don't really care if he is missing time and is only a 3rd down pass rusher this season. Why? Well, because that is what I saw him as the day he was drafted. An Aldon Smith type player as a rookie. He doesn't need to be a starter from day one, and his talent and long term prospects trumps any other player Miami could have had if they stayed at 12.

Excellent comments, I agree 100% :-)
