The Dolphin Backup Qb situation.

Problem is asking someone to come in and learn this offense without being able to take camp and preseason reps in it is likely to be a disaster.
Thats why Stetson make some sense to me, same system, some champ pedigree, seemingly intelligent, nice little sec rivalry with tua.

commentators on tv saying ''this has been impressive by bennett'' after the first half.

remember they have jimmy G.

as he throws a pick..

The Falcons invested heavily in the quarterback position this offseason. As a result, the team may be shopping their lone holdover at the position. As Josh Kendall of The Athletic writes, the Falcons staff is “behaving like it would prefer to get some trade value for Taylor Heinicke” vs. keeping him around as a QB3.

I like heinicki

man im looking at rosters and it doesn't look good so far out there..

i guess some backups might get cut when rosters get to 53 for an up and coming young qb, but idk

The question is does the team see this as an opportunity to get better or do they status quo? Both have been here enough that one of them should be somewhat excelling in the offense. I know they were playing without the starters, but had they played would they have put them in harms way? :ffic:
Unfortunately I think they like what they have.

I am not confident in either of them to be honest.

White has not been good in a Dolphin uniform and Skylar is just not good enough to be the backup.

I would welcome bringing in a Vet with legit experience to back up Tua and I would seriously consider drafting a QB next year if I could find one with a Tua like skill set in terms of quick release, accuracy and processing.

I would Draft one pretty early too, not 1st round, but 2nd round would be on the table for the right guy.

100% agree... we should be looking for another QB next year. If we found the right guy, we'd be able to move on from Tua if injuries reoccur. Even if the young guy eventually walked after 4 years, we'd get value from the pick.

That said... I do not think Thompson is a write off yet. One half of work with some questionable receivers is not a true read on what he could do running the 1s.

Too many fanboys see a bad read or a hurried throw in the first pregame and think they've seen it all. Hell... the vanilla stuff that the team shows in public practices is suspect. There's no way that an NFL team doesn't keep their real offense for when there's no press or fan present.

Same reason the Canadian soccer team cheated with the drones...

we've seen white and skylar for 2 and 3 years now, based on what we've seen I wouldn't call anyone who is still looking to upgrade the position a fan boy jmo

ftr im not saying dont continue to evaluate skylar im just having a convo to see if there is a clear upgrade for the room

Notice how they didn't bring in a QB other than that camp body they cut a couple weeks back.

Like it or not, barring injury, the backups we had last year will be the same this year irregardless of how many topics we start here.

Time to accept this fact.

this is most likely true..

it would take some big balls to cut one and bring in another?
