What the heck is up with the play calling? I noticed during the preseason that we were passing upwards of 60% of the time but dismissed it due to the fact we had so many decisions to make at the WR position. After watching the game, I'm not sure what it is we're trying to do. We passed the ball 71% of the time last night in what was a very close game for most of the night. I don't get why we're passing so much and I don't like it. I realize we weren't moving the ball well on the ground but you never ever give up on the run. Pittsburgh ate us up once we completely went 1 dimensional. We had 18 passes to 3 rushes in the 4th quarter....I'm not suprised Daunte threw 2 picks. Mularkey better get his **** together and balance out this attack asap...

I'm not trying to takl smack, but that is exactly the same thing we said about Mularkeys play calling the last 2 yrs. in B'lo. Remember the Bills/Fins gme in Miami last yr? The Bills had a 23-7 4th quarter lead and Mularkey wouldnt run the ball, the Bills kept passing and giving miami more time come back. Just ask Willis McGahee, Mularkey used to take him out on 3rd downs, at least he keeps Ronnie Brown in this year. I think you guys had a good showing last night, I also think without Mularkey in B'lo, we will give you guys a run for morning next week.

Everyone's blaming the secondary for this loss, but although they didn't play great they didn't play bad either....they were adequate. The offense let me down more than the defense with our pathetic running game. Not being able to run the ball forced Culpepper to have to throw and he is a interception magnet when he does that. Was the play calling all that bad or did our guys just not execute the plays like they should have....I really don't know.

ronnie brown

ok.... maybe this is the dumbest comment ever....... but i hate to see our players with that big crap eating grin on their faces after a play. where is the intensity ??? where is the attitude that we are going to bust you in the mouth ??? ronnie brown had more grins than yards. and i know it's not all his fault, with the lack of blocking and all. i just wish we played with more intensity..... probably would not change the outcome, but it would change the perspective of our team. just my thoughts.

The Loss goes on the whole team, coaching staff included. The offense looked flat, the D was very lax, and there was very little to be proud of in this game. In the last minutes I didnt want to see two interceptions, but when you dont show a run game and there are a whole bunch of route mix ups what do you expect.

Lack of a running game killed us, whether it was play calling or just failure to run block by the OL, we lost this one due to no running game. Our secondary didn't help much either though . . .

Houck has his ork cut out for him, and PRAY that Daniels is ready to start next week. Sure couldn't hurt if Jason Allen got ready to play, we need his speed.

Unfortunetely, Brown wasn't able to do much due to the offensive line's inability to run block. Although Brown himself looked pretty impressive, the Steelers were simply dominating our line. I think Mularky in this case was forced to throw just because the running game's problems were not simple enough to fix in game.
