I admit I havent watched enough of all the other teams this year to make this a concrete statement, but this is probably the worst secondary in totality that I have seen play for the Miami Dolphins in my 20 years watching them and certainly among the worst in the NFL right now.

Will Allen's INT today was obviously a great one, but overall he has been disappointing to say the least. Daniels, Jackson, Goodman, etc. as a unit have been way below average.

As a positive I do believe these guys certainly tackle better than Madison and Surtain did back in the hey day, but if they can't cover anyone what is the good in that?!?

As for the safeties I don't even think I have to write anything about them, their play has been simply putrid.

I am scared to think what will happen when we play some teams that don't absolutely stink offensively.

Am I off base here?

The safeties are awful, and maybe that's why you think Will Allen has looked so bad. If you're going to be matched up 1-on-1 with Andre Johnson all day, then year, you're gonna look pretty bad. Even without the safety help that should've been there, Will Allen still looked pretty solid, IMO. He's a good starter - not a Pro Bowler, but he can play the one and he never gives up on a missed play.. he's a keeper.

The safeties as a group suck, badly. Time to change it up ENTIRELY. Get Jason & Yeremiah back there.

The Secondary has been a complete joke to this point in my opinion. Here are the completions and attempts numbers from the opposing QB's this season. If guys like Collins, Lossman and Batch (not even a starter) can put up such a good completion percentage against this secondary, imagine what Brady, Manning, Favre, Leftwich, etc, are going to do to the secondary.

Batch 15/25 209 3 td passes
Lossman 11/18 83
Collins 19/33 269
Carr 22/29 230

Good point about Allen being on an island, I'd have to agree on that. Perhaps I was too optimistic when we signed him.

The safetys have been worse than the cbs. Tillman has looked especially weak in coverage. As far as Allen IMHO he has been better than not and is a bright spot in the unit (and for what its worth I got flamed on a post earlier calling him a positive so a lot of folks like you don't agree with that assessment) eventhough he did get burned on a couple of plays today. But the safetys aren't helping out in coverage like they should (today is a good example). You are not totally off base my friend in saying their play leaves more to be desired.

The team we played today on paper suppose to be worse. I would say we are in the bottom 10 but not exactly THE worst.

More deflection of the obvious problem. The offense.

Carr has been doing all season just the other teams Offense scores. Dolphins didn't I was surprised that Texans only scored 17 points. I have to give them credit but the offesne, Just Wow

Yep, they gave up almost every 3rd and long today!

Will Allen is our best player in the secondary right now. Its time for Jason Allen, I don't care if he is not ready, we need an athlete back there and if he makes a mistakes, thats the learning process . . . we can't do much worse.

I think HIll has been ok, definetly nothing special but compared to Tillman, he has been much better. TD and Goodman aren't bad, but Tillman really sticks out. Definetly get Bell or Allen in there.

I didnt say the offense wasn't a problem...I see the Defensive Backfield as just as big a problem.

The O-Line and the Safties are the biggest holes right now.

The only reason we aren't 0-4 is because Collins is pathetic. Pinpoint passers like Brady and even Pennington are going to eat us alive.

Nice to know I am not the only one who thinks Will Allen is getting a bad rep by others. As far as the safetys putting Jason Allen out there and feeding him to the beasts might have to be done. The young man just might have to learn on the job. Something needs to be done.

if the QB can get into the endzone once in a while then 17 pts allowed would be a great thing, they have kept us in games all season
