"The Dolphins are a nightmare"...Mando column to soon post

Yeah I want to run right off and read an article saying Dolphins are a nightmare.

This is the same crap Aponte pulled in Cleveland after they fired their GM and why Holmgrem got rid of her ASAP she is a snake!

I honestly know nothing about Aponte other than her title and job here. Never thought I would need to. What went down in Cleveland? Help a brotha out

I'm not a fan of Aponte but let me tell you this, if her actions led to the demise of Jeff Ireland, then I might have to rethink that stance.

Well, I'm not discrediting the report that Aponte 'tattled' on Philbin. I believe it, and I also think that's just a typical Jeff Ireland move to take one last dump on the franchise on his way out.

But this Tannenbaum/Mangini obsession of his? Which he's already stated is nothing but his own speculation? Laughable. Other guys have already reported that the list of GM Candidates includes actual good names who aren't those clowns. Armando claiming that the job is awful and top candidates are going to turn Ross down? Don't buy that for a second -- I think this is an appealing job and guys like Darlington and Ian Rapoport have already said that this is viewed as a top tier job by guys around the league.

So yeah, Armando might have got one last scoop from Jefflon, but he's still full of ****.

The whole article was just the latest in a long line of misrepresented bull**** from Mando. Ireland and Philbin have hated each other for a long time and Ireland knew Aponte and Philbin were close. If he was going off on Philbin with Aponte around it's because he wanted the message to get back to Philbin because neither he nor Philbin have any balls whatsoever when it comes to conflict management.

Yet Mando makes it seems like Aponte tattled when the fact is Aponte and Ireland don't like each other, either. In fact nobody likes Ireland that I'm aware of. Except apparently David Canter. And Stephen Ross. And maybe Ireland's children. Maybe.

After the owner fired the gm there was a period of time no one was running Browns so Aponte went for a power grab. Imagine what you saw on Hardknocks times 10. She almost ran Josh Cribbs out of town by strong arming him, to the point he took to the fans saying I don't want to leave but she won't negotiate. During that time Holmgrem was hired he extended Cribbs and booted Aponte. That was the higher profile of incidents. The whole time she had Mangini in her pocket.

Even if she did us a favor she still needs to go.

The Dolphins GM job is very attractive... A lot of top personnel execs were keeping a close eye on that situation.

Jeff Darlington ✔ @JeffDarlington
I’ve already heard from multiple people around NFL asking what Dolphins will do at GM. High interest. This is going to be VERY coveted role.

Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet
#Dolphins already have a strong in-house candidate for this coveted GM role — Brian Gaine. Should get a hard look

So let's see. That's three guys who work for NFL Network who describe this job as "very attractive" and "very coveted."

Meanwhile, Armando Salguero describes the situation as a total disaster that no one will want because of something something Dawn Aponte/Carl Peterson. Spits out Tannenbaum and Mangini again, two guys who aren't even mentioned by the reporters who are actually getting scoops on the story.

Yeah, OK.

Absolutely love how Armando (during his defense of Ireland) painted this franchise as a potential first rate job as "far back" as a ****ing week ago, heaping lavish praise on the talent/cap space and suggesting that we are only a move or two and good coaching away from being dominate.
Now his source is fired and suddenly were a dumpster fire and potential GM's wont even walk through the front door because they are afraid they might catch a bad case of the backstabbings.

Brilliant stuff.

I dont trust Aponte in the least and it wouldnt surprise me if we learned that she placed herself in the best position possible during the lead up to the power struggle. But the only person responsible for getting Jeff Ireland fired is Jeff Ireland. Aponte didnt call Dez Bryant's mother a whore. Aponte didnt curse out fans. Aponte didnt suggest physical violence as a solution to a hostile work environment. Aponte didnt cause the Dolphins to lead the league in grievances filed against a team. Aponte wasnt the one Sage Rosenfels named the worst GM he's had the misfortune of working for. And even with all of that, Ireland had a chance to save his job by building a team that could consistently win ****ing football games. He failed.

Go **** yourself Armando, i hope those Vietnam vets you cursed out redesign your house. Using chainsaws.

Just looked this up. Don't like Armando in the slightest...but it wasn't like the other guy was nice either. In fact...he was quite the douche.

As far as the thread is concerned, I'm with most of the posters on here. I think he's blowing smoke....I pray he is. I don't want the first time Armando was right, to be now...:chuckle:

I'm sure there is truth to what Armando is saying, but its typical of him writing something as an attention grab and skewing the facts. I'm sure the Dolphins aren't the only organization in football with tension in the front office. Just like I'm sure the Dolphins weren't the only organization in the league that have players behaving as Incognito did (inside the lockerroom) and the whole hazing non-sense. Armando just wants to be the first to get it out there, this isn't anything earth shattering to me.

I'll bet anything Peterson, Mangini and any of the other guys who everyone is cringing at thinking about being in the front office won't be happening. I said after the Jets loss I didnt trust Ross could make the right decisions after the collapse. Well he proved me wrong (though I would have been fine with Philbin getting the boot too) so far. I have to give him the benefit of the doubt now until proven otherwise. Heres to hoping we get this right.

I'm sorry but that's a BS article. There's absolutely nothing of substance in it to support his claim that this organisation is a 'nightmare'. All I've read is that the Dolphins' GM position is a very, very attractive one around the NFL. I've read that in NFL corridors, many people have had their eye on what's going to happen here. Now I'm supposed to believe a jilted, poisonous writer who is upset he's lost his source ? No chance.

Go f....yourself. Things just improved tenfold in Miami over the last couple of days. Don't dilute the optimism.

He basically recycled his column from last week about Mangini and Carl Peterson. Yawn.
Mando is hip and embraces recycling. However, his worst possible fear of losing his "Deep Throat" source has eventuated. If Jeff can get a job as GM at another club, Mando should go with him to that destination because they work well as a package deal.
Jeff, was Mando ever officially on the payroll? He was a better investment than Pat White and Legadu Naanee and more loyal than Pavlov's dog. "Fetch Mando"
