2015 Senior Bowl: Wednesday Rumor Mill

By Charlie Campbell - @draftcampbell

With all the general managers, coaches and scouts in attendance for the Senior Bowl there is a lot of chatter going around. Here are some of the highlights from the rumormill on day three.

The Dolphins are targeting a speed receiver, which makes Mike Wallace's future in Miami perfectly clear. Dolphins general manager Dennis Hickey didn't like Wallace coming out of Ole Miss, and sources say it would be surprising if Wallace came back to Miami next season. The organization's actions are speaking volumes. The Dolphins have shown a ton of interest in speedster receivers Devin Smith (Ohio State) and Philip Dorsett (Miami). It looks as though the Dolphins are getting ready to dump Wallace and draft a cheaper replacement. While running Tampa Bay's drafts as the college director, Hickey didn't draft a wide receiver in the first round, so it seems more likely that Miami would take a wideout on the second day of the 2015 NFL Draft. Thus, Dorsett and Smith make sense.

The guy they're really looking at is Shelton tho. Just not sure he'll be there at 14....if he's not there then I wouldn't mind a WR there.

If this is the case we need to draft 2 receivers then... One speedster and one big all purpose receiver.

SHelton seems like a beast. He needs to drop 10-15 pounds tho. At 340 he is pretty agile and quick. Vince Wilfork is 325 and looks alot bigger than Shelton. Wilfork plays in NE with cooler weather than Miami. Shelton needs to drop to atleast 330

He'll be there @14. And yeah I agree. 340 is a bit much for a 4-3 DT...

Smith is not there in the 2nd round. If Dorsett keeps it up, he might not be there in the 2nd.

It is a mistake to can Wallace.

Oh no....we lose a bad attitude guy with average hands that has a skill set that doesn't fit the type of offense the phins run who still struggles to read DB and coverages and that is a bad thing....becasue of speed and making a name for himself off of broken plays and sandlot football type plays...

Can't see them getting rid of Wallace especially if they might want to dump Gibson and Hartline

Mike Wallace is better than you are making him.

It's almost like the last time we dumped a top flight receiver and tried to replace him with lower tier guys. I bet we'll draft more lineman early too. How is this guy different from Ireland again?

Not really....he still hasn't develop the ability to read coverages and tends to rely soley on his speed to make plays and get open. I mean his spectacular plays are plays where he didn't catch the ball cleanly and had to bobble it to bring it in. We saw many times where he gave poor effort on plays that could have been compleations. I think you are overvalueing him....

B Marsh was a top flght legit number one WR....Wallace is a upper level number two on most teams

We do need that plug in the middle of that dline....I wanted us to draft Ngata so bad when he came out but was gone by the time we pick of course....now I'm afraid Shelton will be gone too. Regardless, we need to get a DT in free agency and still draft Shelton if he's there. And that kid from Duke, I believe his name is Tomlinson is holding his own with shelton. We could use a guard like him but at this point I'd rather us get a vet in free agency.

Ozzy rules!
