The dolphins’ change in free agency approach might signal a new — winning — direction

I’ll tell you this injuries at DT and guard we are in trouble... it’s slim at DT...and Suh was reliable.

The draft will tell us a lot about the direction that the team is going. Suh was reliable however didn't command such a high cap number in my opinion for his play and intangibles.

That's the only way this team lands that caliber of player....by overpaying. You can afford to do that as long as you don't overpay the average players..(cough, cough). They certainly haven't been able to draft them.

Things that will go wrong this here year.

1. We will not draft a QB in the first round.

2.Tannehill will not stay healthy.

3.Okweiler will be tannehills replacement and be as good as matt moore. ENOUGH SAID.

4. With the departure of suh, the run defense will be as porous as a gigantic shrimp net.

5. We will have the worst LB crew in the NFL.

Of course i want none of this to happen. But ive been a dolphan since i was born.

So what else can we expect?

The rest of the division will take a step backwards in my opinion, in particular the Pats and Jills leaving the AFC East wide open if the Fins can actually get their act together????????????????

Wow what an absolute train wreck. How much playoff experience did the Eagles need? Or Seattle? Or countless other ascending teams? You win with young elite talent at key positions, Qb included.

This regime basically said - let's bring in a bunch of aging veterans with playoff experience that can show all the "talent" how to prepare the right way. Problem is we have no talent, and relying on aging veterans is a very dangerous game. Gase, Tannebaum, and Grier are grasping at straws hoping playoff castoffs will be the magic elixir that this team needed. This was their solution to 6-10? How about working to get as much young talent in the building as possible.

To top it off all our blue chippers - Ajayi, Landry, and Suh were shown the door. This has the makings of a terrible season and if Tannehill can't transcend the bad talent on this team, we are looking at a new regime next year and complete rebuild.

I'm not buying. This team will be a completely different animal next season. Let's just look at the run game. We have Kenyon Drake and Frank Gore, Drake appears to be a star in the making and Frank Gore is an awesome short yardage and red zone runner. To block for them Gase brought in a great LG, Josh Sitton and a new C Kilgore. We resigned James and we pencil in Davis as RG. This oline is WAY better now and Drake and Gore are WAY better than Drake and Damien Williams. In the draft we get even stronger because a RB will probably be picked by us in day 2 or 3.

The passing game will be better simply because Ryan Tannehill is so much better than Jay Cutler that it's absurd. Tannehill and Parker have good chemistry and it appears as though they will be a deadly combination going forward but only if the kid can start the season out 100% healthy. Landry will be a huge loss here but I'm optimistic that Wilson and Amendola will do the job quite well. We also will be adding a TE in the draft so imo the offense is trending upwards.

Yeah, i don't really see Amendola and Gore putting us over the top...

Finally, optimism! I was about to throw myself off of a cliff. Thank you!!!! #RT17

Assuming we take a top TE in round 2 that is productive right away, I think our net offense will be better than last season even with the loss of Landry. I am also guessing we take another RB in round 4 or so.

QB - Much Improved
TE - Much improved
RB - slightly improved (from ajayi and drake)
OL - slightly improved (better guard play and depth)
WR - slight downgrade (loss of landry)

On Defense I also think we will be much better. Lippett will be back, our young corners will be better, we should have 2 much improved LB's after the draft, and better pass rush. Only downgrade I see is DT.
