...fan community. You figure that a playoff starved fan base would be unified and absolutely hilarious of being 9-5 with a great shot at the playoffs. But no. We find always something to bicker about.

We have those who thought that Moore should have been dumped over the years and never understood why he was on the team and their feelings are hurt now.
We have those who thought we can only win with Tannehill have their feelings hurt.
We have those this season who thought we can never win with Tannehill had their feelings hurt and now Moore's wins look prettier than Tannehill's.

I could go on because the list is long and very disturbing.

For those who do not know me I was always a huge Moore supporter, thought he had a raw deal in 2012 and was a critic of Tannehill for the last 4 years. But unless you are completely biased and blind even the harshest critics have to admit that Tannehill had tremendously improved this year and is on his way to be our franchise QB. Our 8-5 record is as much his doing as anybody elses.
Moore could take us to the Supper Bowl and win it Tannehill will still be our starting QB next year. He is the future of our beloved Miami Dolphins.
Moore's job is to step in when our starting QB goes down and get as many wins as possible for however long that will take. His ambition is to keep our playoff hopes alive. Moore settled a long time ago for the backup role. He knows his place and he is comfortable with that. The Dolphins are comfortable with that and always knew that he will be up to the task when called upon to step in. This year the gamble on Moore may just payoff.

On the other hand Tannehill supporters don't have to be insecure and dismiss Moore's performance. Remember he did not start a game in 5 years. For a 5-year non starter he did a tremendous job. I know that a lot of you predicted doom after Tannehill went down. I understand that. But be happy that we have the best backup QB of any backup QB.

But what I don't understand is (and I address both sides) that your love or dislike for one player or the other is so overwhelming that your view of the team and its current situation is so skewed that you can't be happy about an important win.
It was less than 24 hours ago where we discussed the upcoming game and everybody said that this is one game where we will see if we are the same old Dolphins or not.

Being wrong (if it is positive for the Dolphins) is not bad or an embarrassment. I was wrong about Tannehill for 4 years (but I never stopped rooting for the guy) and I can't be any happier that I was so wrong.

Yes, I say it with pride: I was wrong...and I am happy about it. And guess what: it does not take away from my manhood. I am still the same guy who I was last year and I can still be happy about every win.

There is no Moore vs Tannehill argument. The hierarchy in Dolphins QB land will remain the same. No matter what happens this year.

Coming here is really becoming agonizing. It is no fun. Instead of endless threads of our playoff run and playoff scenarios and who could maybe be our playoff opponent we have nothing but bickering about a QB controversy which simply does not exist. Instead of talking about how good it feels of being 9-5 and having the first winning season since 2008 and instead of being excited about the destruction of a division rival who in almost the same situation killed our playoff hopes in 2013 I read misery and suddenly it doesn't matter anymore just because we cannot let go of an imaginary QB controversy.

I appeal to everybody to just let go of your love and hate for one or the other QB and just enjoy the moment. As far as we know it may be over next week or in two weeks. The Dolphins (incl both QBs) are one team. We should be one as fan base right now.

I don't care if anybody likes or doesn't like this post so spare me thanks/no thanks clicks but if you have to and before you click thanks or no thanks I want you to do the following:
- pull up a website with the current NFL standings
- go to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Miami_Dolphins_seasons and look at our seasons of the last 8 years
- realize that we are 8-5 with Tannehill and 1-0 with Moore
- tell yourself thatthere is no QB controversy and every win is sweet
- and then you say "I was wrong and it feels good to be 9-5". Don't embarrass yourself and post it here. Just do it quietly by yourself.

And now let's be happy.

If you can't be happy about a win.... a meaningful playoff chase win in December... a win that guarantees our first winning season in 8 years... regardless of who the qb is.. then no, I don't consider you a true fan.

I mostly agree with you man. However as unlikely as it would be for Matt Moore to lead us to a Superbowl win, if it happened there would be a definite QB controversy. How would you pull Moore out after that?

Agree 100%

i am not worried about RT vs Moore...what's the worst thing that could happen - Moore leads is deep into the playoffs?

What i would like to do is give a big shout out to all the Phin fans at MetLife stadium last night.... ratio was 52/48 and i am not sure which side had 52. it was great to see

while i hate the Jets. i would also like to say thanks to the very hospitable jet fans last night. they were sportsmanlike to me and my 8 -yr old son at his first dolphin game.

Amazing isn't it? A 21 point win AT the Jets IN December to clinch our first winning record in several seasons and people still feel the need to piss and moan. I get a feeling some would find a way to complain even if we managed to win a Superbowl with Gase.

Similar situation happened to the Habs in the NHL involving Carey Price and Jaroslav Halak. It split the fanbase almost 50/50 to a point where the team W/L record had no meaning in a conversation. We are lucky to have a backup who is comfortable in his role and wont bitch when Tannehill returns from injury. He will gladly retake his role as the best backup in the NFL. We dont have to trade any of these 2 to make someone happy. Just win!

It was more a sarcastic comment. If that actually would happen there could be another couple of options: trade to start for another team if that's what Moore wand; retirement as a Super Bowl winning QB.

But when it comes to the Dolphins it's a numbers game (age). I doubt that Gase would stray from developing Tannehill further. And I think Moore knows that and if he'd stay he would accept that. But let's leave that scenario in the dream column for now.

I don't even think age factors into it.

There are two truths:

1. People are always quick to blame the starting quarterback for a loss.
2. The Dolphins were losing until this year and Tannehill was assigned a disproportionate amount of the blame.
3. There is something to be said for having a veteran quarterback that stays around and knows the players.
4. Matt Moore is a competent quarterback but if he were a type of guy that could just walk into somewhere else and get a starting job, he wouldn't have been here for five years. He is a soild backup to have.
5. I would love for him to lead us to the playoffs (which I think he does have a decent shot at) and deep into the playoffs (which I have my doubts). The better he plays, the less chance he will be here next year, but more power to him. Tannehill is the starting quarterback for this team come next year. Moore is likely playing to be a high priced backup somewhere or go to a team in desperate need of someone capable of pushing to be the starter.

I didn't see that many people bickering. I feel like a 5 year old on Christmas day regarding the Dolphins. They ARE 9-5. They have a backup QB who could be better than some teams' starting QBs. The secondary was once perceived as a major weakness, but through the course of the season we have multiple corners who have been coached up. We were worried about our running game after week 5, but we now have a prime time household name in Jay "J-Train" Ajayi. We have multiple big play receivers, and excuse me if I am wrong, but our team is a leader in "big plays" this season. In years past, our Dolphins team has been ridiculed for not having any "big play" playmakers.

Forgive me for wearing aqua colored glasses, but this team is trending up in a big big way. It feels like... it feels like what the Seahawks were just before they went prime time. This offseason should hopefully put this team over the hump. Then what? You know what. :)

Happy with the victory over the Jets but now on to the next game. We have to find a way to beat Buffalo on their home field next Saturday. Have to keep our momentum going.

It's really amazing and we actually should have a 10-4 record right now because we should've won the damn Seattle game. But we have to live with it and just keep going.

Pretty sure the "tannehill supporters" you're complaining about are just normal people irritated by the trolling of Matt Moore is the best morons.

im a huge tannehill supporter, and while i have called the people calling for moore to replace tannehill mooreons i am still rooting for moore to succeed. I have always been of the opinion that Moore is one of the best backup qbs in the league. I dont think he is better than tannehill, however, he is good enough to win games and i hope he can carry us into the playoffs and beyond if we can make it. Moore is a backup, he has accepted that himself and he is now doing his job, this is what he gets paid for.
