LANDOVER, MD -- All things being equal -- and that was exactly the case with Miami and Washington tied at 10 points apiece with fewer than 11 minutes left in their Week 1 game -- someone needed to rise. A player needed to provide extra juice.Jarvis Landry knew he could do it.

"I hadn't done a lot of punt returns here, and I was over on the sideline begging for them to put me in, let me have it," Landry said. "Big-time players want to be in big-time moments. I have always believed that about myself. I feel like I am the type of player that guys can feed off. That's why they call me 'Juice."'

Good read, thought I'd share. Jarvis is exactly what this team has needed for a few years now.

Good read. Havent finished it yet, but wanted to ask if anyone has a replay of that catch Landry had where he was stopped 2 yards short, but bullied his way to get those extra yards for the 1st. My kid got up and I wanted to show it to him!

Sometimes your best players just need to make plays. For years we watched as other teams stars made those types of plays on offense or special teams. We were simply due. With a lot of new parts on offense it will take a few weeks for them to hit their stride.

good news is we could've peaked in week 1, instead of week 17.

We really need that X-factor on offense that Devante Parker can provide. We also need the stability of having a stud LT. Every week that goes bye we will be getting stronger in those regards.

I'll take 4 of the ugliest wins possible to get us to the bye.

I second this

I agree, that was a great play on Landry's part, almost as impressive as the punt return.

I can't wait until Parker becomes one of the week to week starters, I believe what ever problems we may have on offense, will become less and less obvious the moment he takes the field. If Parker is able to learn route running from Jennings...OH BOY!!!

Glad the coaches don't listen to this board or he wouldn't have been returning that kick and we would have lost

I'll be the first to admit I did not want Landry returning anything. He effectively shut up any doubters myself included yesterday. Meanwhile LaMike proved his worth..or lack of.

Landry plays with a fire that I sure hope is contagious to others on the team, over time. RT needs it for sure, as do our LB's. Forget the punt return - those things will happen and he did get some great blocks. What impresses me is his will to fight for every last possible inch on every single play. Seriously, you'd have to think some of the less "intense" guys on the team would take notice of this and step up their game.
