I think the Dolphins new years resolution should be to get a quarter back with atleast a 60% completion percentage. I was at the game today and some of Frerottes throws looked even worse up close. I counted atleast 5 third down conversions where his pass to an open reciever was literally impossible to catch. This game would have been a blow out if he had converted those third downs but whatever we ended the season with 6 wins so Happy New Year.

200 and some yards and a td aint bad could be better but not bad. He had some pretty good passes at the end of the game when the game was on the line.

EDIT: If you're talking about a QB, Gus had a 62.8% copletion rating today. That is over 60%. I guess I am confused here.

What you asking for? A WR that can throw????

:sidelol:

He's a stopgap, nothing more, nothing less. Like putting a bandaid on a really bad wound, he is not a guy you want to stick around.

now i know Linehan likes run arounds and trick plays with WRs, but how often will we need to throw with a reciever?

Bad analogy. A band-aid on a really bad wound doesn't work. Gus Frerotte is a workable stop gap.

I would compare him to a Souparts injection. He will give the Dolphins temporary relief, but at some point, they know they have to go with a long term answer....a la a total knee replacement.

Sorry about that I was a little off with that. Clearly I meant quarterback and although he completed 60% of his passes this game he missed on alot of easy third and short passes and for the season his completion percentage is extremely low.

We know what you meant. ;) It's just fun to get the shots in while you can. Since you(Me being the case) will get shots taken at them as well. It's all fun and games and great laughs.

On a serious note. I think Gus has done a decent job of filling in for our stop-gap QB this season. He made some great decisions early in the game to get rid of the ball and avoid the sack. He also did something we weren't accustomed to seeing... he scrambled for a few yards as well.

If he can continue to manage the game the way he did today, next year, then I don't see a problem with him coming back and helping to mentor or back-up our QB of the future. As far as a back-up QB goes... I think Gus did okay.

well I only seen 2 games this year but the reason we struggled at first because the play calling sucked threw the ball way to much when we had Ricky and Ronnie. But that changed when Linehan joined the team on the side line play calling got better and Sage and Frerotte played better.

i promise not to blame everything in the NFL on "anti-dolphins" bad luck...

bump

come on its always good to rip Frerotte after a win. Its like the dessert after a meal

:sidelol: :sidelol: :sidelol: I am not one to talk negative after a win but that is hilarious!

Miami's new year's resolution should be to upgrade the offensive line.
