The Dolphins will not negotiate a new contract for franchise NT Paul Soliai

Our DL is not the problem at all. They aren't worried about keeping Soliai because they know they're on their way out.

What is not surprising is that this regime is not going to extend anyone into big contract extensions when their own future is at stake. And I believe Ireland is as risk just like Tony, if not more so. You hire a guy like Cowher and you know he will want control. Not to say they will do that. But incompetence knows no bounds in this team.

remember Tim Bowens -- a huge 4-3 DT Zach and JT had their best seasons with him at DT .
Miami would be a better as a 4-3 team vs 3-4 - Wake - Misi - JT as DE

We are deep at DL, he's good but we could get someone to do the job he had done so far this year...

This is a critical position and need to resign him at his value which is below his current 12 mil. It takes several years to develop solid NT play and they are now reaping the benefits of being patient.
time for that was prior to last year when they could have "overpaid" him in the 3-4 million range

in the off-season if its a incentive based contract ill be all for it... or just franchise him again hell i wouldn't mind trading him for a 2nd round pick either.

he just hasn't been impressive the first 2 games of the seasons ... not disruptive ( remember the pats center got hurt still no sign of soliai ) he just seems "solid" i wonder if there is a new regime if we will consider going 4-3..... we can have wake and misi on the outside with starks and odrick on the inside....

According to Volin and Armando on twitter, the Dolphins offered 5 years, $40 million and wouldn't budge - good, he's not worth more than that.

See ya Paul.

wow? since when did this guy become that good?

Theirs a decent chance we could be a 4-3 team next year, so in the long run it could turn out better we didn't make a deal with him.

imo, you have to give Ireland credit on this one for not being sucked in by one good half-season. $12 million is better than $40-50 million

i dont see any offer we made as being some low ball offer. Rubin in cleveland is way better than this guy. I really wanted Rubin in thatb draft but u never know
