Whatever any armchair general manager might want from this next draft, it’s probably in the cards for the Dolphins. The team is casting a wide net this draft “season.” It’s leaving itself open to many possibilities.

Because, the Dolphins will tell you, their roster grants them a ton of flexibility following the upgrades of free agency.

But there’s another, more accurate reason the Dolphins could draft players at any number of positions early on: Their roster needs serious attention at a bunch of different places.

Which is why I don't see them grabbing a QB early unless they can't pass up if someone falls in our lap.

So yes everything is on the table.

QB is not on the table. It's in the basement under the rug.

WR is on the shelf in the garage.

Everything else is on the table. It's going to be a defensive player.......OBVIOUSLY.

Quenten Nelson is the only possible offensive player we could select in the first round.

Makes sense to take the player you have the highest overall grade on.

I don’t like trade downs generally, but if they are just filling numerous holes instead of trying to swing for the fences then see if you can move down. QB’s aside, there are only a few blue chip position players in any given draft and there’s no guarantee any one of them will be there at 11. I could see them gaining another second rounder in a trade back into the 20’s with the right partner.

If Mayfield or Rosen are there at 11, I'm pretty sure we'll grab either although I have a strong preference for Mayfield. And while i doubt Jackson will last into the 3rd, despite the suspicion that there's not that much going on between his ears, I'd be fine with that as well.

My instinct says that we'll be chanting "Minkah" for many years to come.

I'm usually a fan of trading back, but the 11th pick appears to be more valuable this year than most years. The 4 QB's skew the normal value of the 11th to pick to about the 9th pick if you consider an average of two QB's going top 10 most years.

Also consider that the best CB, FS, SS, NT, DE, RB, OG are all pretty universally ranked the No.1 prospect at their position without much in the way of competition. Ward, Fitzpatrick, James, Vea, Chubb, Barkley, Nelson.

The only real debate is at LB where I believe Edmunds is widely regarded as the better prospect but many Roquan Smith fans there.

Can you afford to miss out on a "top 10 pick" at 11?

I'd be more inclined to make a small trade down for a 3rd rounder than a big one for a late 2nd.

Now if Cleveland comes offering 33, 35 and 64 I'm listening.

I can't see him getting past Oak with that hideous secondary

This draft is particularly interesting to me. In the past, our qb was set, so the only mystery was what position we were going to get. This draft we could actually get a qb, or any number of players, both defensive or offensive.

With all the talk about Gase finally realizing HIS team, I'm curious as to what he wants with the most important selection. Right now I couldn't say who Gase would get. If we move up to 4, it will be a qb.
