As many of you know, I am a Chambers fan. However, even I wondered how much blame Chris Chambers deserve. Well, this morning, I grabbed the Palm Beach Post when I was in FAU, and I read the article posted below:

http://www.palmbeachpost.com/dolphins/content/sports/epaper/2006/11/03/a1b_dolphins_1103.html

Now, I found this article interesting. Not mainly because of his thoughts or anything (though I found that interesting). It's the four facts in the article.

So, here's the facts. I'll let you make a conclusion from them.

  • Miami quarterbacks thrown to Chris Chambers 65 times.
  • Chambers only has two drops.
  • 35 of the 65 (53.8%) passes thrown to Chris Chambers were deemed uncatchable.
  • 42% of the passes thrown to Chambers that were incompletions poor throws
Like I said, make your own conclusion.

That makes perfect sense to me, and I think Chambers' lack of production this year has been the fact that the offense just doesn't seem to revolve around it like it did last year. We used to throw the ball to him as much as possible and the plays were clearly meant to get him --our best player-- the ball.
That being said, prepare yourself for some ridiculous comeback about cutting Chambers and burning him at the stake because Calvin Johnson will be there when we draft.

Chambers is an elite WR whose career is being wasted.

5 Offensive Co-ordinators in 6 seasons ( 5 1/2)

8 QB's -Fiedler, Lucas, Feeley, Rosenfels, Griese, Frerotte, Culpepper(injured), Harrington .

Conservative head Coach under Wanny, overthrowing QB's, and now Malarkey.

WTF?!?! Who would look elite under those circumstances?

We've all seen what Chambers can do when he has a great QB throwing to him. He burnt Deangelo Hall in the Pro Bowl when Peyton Manning was throwing him the ball....

You can always argue that it was Peyton Manning throwing the ball, but then why would TO say a WR is as good as his QB.

Chambers is an elite WR waiting for a QB

Thats exactly how I feel about this topic.

great post, thank you. the only possible conclusion that you could make,is that all the people on this board who think that chambers is not a legitimate#1 are just plain wrong.

exactly!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this thread. Every single person who has posted here has made an outstanding point about Chambers. It is truly ridiculous that people are suggesting we cut him and they all think Calvin Johnson will come in here and be a pro bowler next year.

Realist, you're point is perfectly valid. Chambers is being put in a differnt situation every single season. In 2005, he finally had a coordinator who moved him around and got him the ball. He also had a quarterback, who on occasion, could get him the ball. Prior to that and in 2006, Chambers has dealt with a horrible line, horendous play calling, and poor quarterback play. Chambers is the man and when we build our OL up and get a healthy Daunte back, everyone will see that.

I think he's a capable of being a #1 but i don't think he's an elite #1 WR. For every good catch that Chambers has he drops an easy one which number #1 WRs don't do that often.

Hey, don't thank me.... entirely. Thank me for being the messenger, but please applaud the peeps at the Palm Beach Post and STATS, LLC.

I want Calvin, but I want him AND Chambers. You double team either one of those guys, and the other one is there to make you pay.

Now I like that idea!

Yep. I'm confused by people who want to draft Johnson and trade Chambers.

We are trying to become the lions, aren't we? Let's get a freaking OL and all of our receivers will look like #1s!
