since mike vick tried to sneak his stash through the airporttheres no way schaub gets traded now hes the insurance policy because atl knows mike vick is heading to the pokey. that stinks schaub couldve been a solid starter for us i really liked the idea of giving him a shot in southfla

No more backups please. If he couldn't beat Vick how good is he? You might say it's because the owner is in love with Vick but if he had flat out beaten Vick in Training camp or practice, there's no way a coach plays an inferior player. No more backups please. Draft a QB to groom behind Culpepper. Period.

There was never any hope, chance, plan, or possibility of acquiring Matt Schaub in the first place.

Big deal. The guy never proved a thing AND Atlanta's asking price has always been ridiculously too high.

First off, Schaub has shown he is a better QB than Vick, but Atlanta has an owner who just spent big bucks on the team, training camp, etc. Blank only cares about putting butts in seats at the Dome and Vick draws in the Metro Atlanta population. Most people from outside the metro area don't commute in for Falcon games, and if Schaub was to start over Vick, Metro Atlanta won't turn out. Poor turn out = empty seats, so they won't do it. Just watch a Braves game if you don't believe me, hell they win all the time and the ballpark is empty. Only a few commute from the suburbs for sporting events, but not enough to make a difference.

As for getting Schaub, dream on. There's no way in hell we'd give up a first and third as Atlanta will be asking for the RFA if he's not resigned sooner. With Patrino in now, there is no loyalty to Vick, and Schaub may not even become available like he was under Jim Moron Jr.

He's slower than dirt anyway...we need a QB with wheels enough to move the chains when our sorry *** O-line breaks down and our 2nd rate WR's don't get open.

1. We never had any intention of going after him anyways.

2. Vick isnt going to any "pokey". He'll be lucky to even have to pay a fine.

What makes you think that Schaub would have been a good fit in Miami? He had some good games filling in for Mike Vick?

Schaub has run a West-Coast offense in college and with Atlanta. Miami doesn't run a West-Coast style offense. Schaub would be a bad fit here...now if we changed our entire offensive philosophy then maybe Schaub would fit. But right now, Schaub would struggle just like the other QB's we've tried to fit in here.

Michael Irvin, believe it or not, brought up a good point about Schaub. He doesn't think he is as good as Vick and his reasoning is this. No one has ever gameplanned for Matt Schaub. When teams play Atlanta, they gameplanned for Mike Vick. Schaub was able to ocme in with little to no game tape on ihm and sling the ball.

In fact, a quick look at his stats has left me less than impressed. A career of 6 TD's and 6 interceptions with a career QB rating of 69.2. Not exactly setting the world on fire. At least Mike Vick has a career rating of 75.7.
