I've seen all the threads on Penny, Henne, bad play calling, Ginn is soft, our recievers suck, we don't run the ball enough, Jake Long got owned etc.

I have yet to see one thread mention how much tougher and more physical the Falcons looked yesterday. This was as surprising to me as the turnovers. Especially since we all rave about our off season conditioning program.

We got out hit yesterday - something you would not expect from a Parcells/Sparano team. I hope we got this out of our system.:ponder:

Yes good way of putting it. They made us look SLOW on offense due to the way they were flying around.

i expect to see a much different game against Indy. we should be able to run all night on them. if it doesn't happen then heads should roll.

Most of us were just as surprised as y'all on how the Falcons D looked. All preseason the talk around the Falcons boards were how bad our corners are and how bad our defense will be.

We were lead to believe that the O will have to put up 30+ a game to make up for our short comings on D. If you would have told pretty much any Falcon fan before the game that our offense will look pretty pedestrian, Jason Elam would look like a rookie in college and that our D would be the stars of the game, we would have called you crazy.

I agree about them not being physical last week. I know for a fact that miami can beat the colts. its just a matter of if they bring the heat and play some real football and pound the rock down their throat. commit to the run and try to open up the passing game for penny. i believe that if the R&R express comes to town with a head full of steam, then ted ginn can have a big day as well.

I'm calling it now. Phins 27 Colts 17
i believe you owe me for the brokeback sig :chuckle:

Our O was punished.
BUT our D was simply outstanding vs the run.. OUTSTANDING!
I am still in shock at how well we stopped Turner and Norwood.
Our D line and LB's did exactly what they wanted to vs the run.
The pass rush was lacking for a lot of the game but our front 7 deserves a lot of credit after that effort its just sad we got beat so bad they wont get the credit they should

I love our front seven. We are very physical on the D side. Vontae and Sean played a nice game as well. Our safeties in coverage concern me though.

Langford, JT, Merling, and Starks are ballers. LB play was decent as well.

Our D showed up and played well despite being put in bad positions with all the TOs. Its the O that was physically mauled. IMHO we came in over-confident and believed Atlanta was that bad on D. The local yodels up here were talking about how bad their D looked all preseason and it did. They had something to prove.

Our OL has something to prove now and based on what I saw last year and in preseason I can't see how we got that bad so quickly. After 24 hours of reflecting this Dolfan here can only see that it was only one game. That doesn't change the fact that the OL got mauled. Now the chip is on our shoulder. Jake needs to look at the video on this game and use it as a motivator for the rest of his career. No resting on laurels in this league!

Kudos to the run-stopping effort. We were obsessed about stopping Turner as we should have been. I have confidence in our D.
