It appears Kelly Campbell is the fastest Dolphin player and has an excellent chance of making the team.

http://www.floridatoday.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070612/SPORTS/706120331/1002/SPORTSThere is a guy who brings the speed we are looking for, just flat-out speed and has some quickness to go with it," Cameron said. "If you stood out there, and had everyone on our team line up and run at you straight, he is running straight at a different speed than everybody else, which gives him a chance.

Another reason among many to trade the GREAT Marty Booker.

i heard he shortarms them over the middle..... and that was without the pads. Also everyone has said that Ginn is the fastest out there and hes at 90%.

ill keep booker

Not so fast...no pun intended

"Now, there is a lot more to it than that. We are looking for football players. We are looking for guys that can do multiple things because once they are on your active roster, they just can't be a one-dimensional guy unless they are maybe world-class. We need guys that give us adaptability in the kicking game. We need guys that can play multiple positions. We need football players.
"He has physical ability. I like his approach. I sense a guy who is maturing a little bit. Now he just has to be a football player, a guy that can button that chin strap up and play football."

What part about, "and had everyone on our team line up and run ," didn't come across??

You mean this part here

Perhaps you miss the part I highlighted.

Personally I could care less who is the fastest player on the team as long as they help the team win.

I know the article does say everyone but I still doubt he actually meant that Campbell is faster than Ginn. But even though he does have speed, that's not everything or the NFL would be littered with former Olympic runners.

From the way that article is worded, it makes it sound like his straight line speed is quite a bit more impressive than his quickness. The only place straight line speed is a huge factor is in kickoff returns, and I think we all know who's going to be our guy there. I don't feel comfortable at all about getting rid of Marty especially since we haven't seen this guy in training camp yet.

I would bet that Ted Ginn is the fastest player in the league, let alone the Dolphins.

Campbell was in camp last year and the same things were being said by the staff.

He is blazing fast and nobody can take that away from him.

If you read the article you would see that and also he tore his quad in the last pre-season game.

As far as Ginn goes he is reportedly going all out, it is Campbell who is taking it slow, not wanting a repeat of last year.

It seemed to me that in the article Cam was insinuating that Campbell was the fastest guy but not the shiftiest or the most elusive. I beleive their were reports on this very sight detailing Ginn's amazing speed this way, that way and the other way, but it sounds like in straight race down the feild, Campbell might beat everybody, including if you may: Donte Stallworth.
Maybe we didn't miss out afterall.

You're right, it's not just straight line speed, it's Ginn's change of direction ability that's impressive also. Steve Smith has a similar skill set.

There are so many fast recievers in this league, everyone seems to forget the phenomenal speed guys like Laverneus Coles and Randy Moss also have. Anyone see that he ran a 4.3 40 for the Patriots right after he was traded? With no preperation.
