Well my fellow Dolfans this is it: the toughest stretch; the final "5". Will we be 10-6 or 5-11. Yes, the decision to play Daunte looms as the largest negative to this season, but it all comes down to these "final 5". Forget about Daunte: he's finished. Can the defense rise to the occasion over the final 5? Can Joey? Can Mularkey? I say it's somewhere in the middle; 7-9 or 8-8. If we finish 8-8 or better, Mularkey deseves a pass and Joey serious consideration as the starter. If we end up as a loser, then changes are in order. It should be interesting.

In the AFC East wildcard race, The Jets have it the easiest. We have Jax and NE back-to-back with Indy at the end. If things workout, Indy may sit players in preparation for the playoffs and not need to win the game. If not, those are three potential losses. We'll have to see. I'll definitely be watching the Jax vs. Bills game this weekend.

MIA
----------NYJ--------- BUF

DET 2-9------HOU 3-7-----JAX 6-4
JAX 6-4 -- ---GB--4-6-----SD 8-2
NE 7-3------- BUF 4-6-----NYJ 5-5
BUF 4-6 -- ---MIN 4-6-----MIA 5-6
NYJ 5-5------ MIA 5-6-----TN 3-7
IND 9-1 ------OAK 2-8-----BAL 8-2
TOTAL 33-28 TOTAL 22-39 TOTAL 35-26

It's going to be VERY tough. Well like I've said before ONE GAME AT A TIME!:dolphins: :dolphins:

Seriously, with the tie breakers, Miami could miss it at 10-6. Miami HAS to win out. This is a difficult task. Jax poses a REAL threat next Sunday and the remainder doesn't get any easier. Every week is like a mini-season at this point. I think it's great that we as fans can have this feeling. Stranger things have happened in the NFL. Keep the faith.

Only 6 teams make the playoffs 4 division winners 2 wild cards, and right now especially with the Chiefs winning last night, the final wild card seems to be slipping away from us. Although their are a lot of people in the media that feel that Denver might slide big time, and if that happens then all of the sudden....well anything can happen.

NY Jets, prior to the Pats game before the bye week some reports of concerns with Chad's arm were starting, IMO the only reason he played well against NE was he had an extra week to rest his shoulder.

I fully expect the Jets to fall even with their easy schedule.

Alot can happen over the final 5 1/2 weeks how many times have we watched Miami in the past slip and lose its chance in making the playoffs, so while anything is possible. We need to take care of business one game at a time.

IMO QB problems will derail both the Jets and Buff. My main concerns are the Chiefs and Jags.

well go 4-1 in the last 5, well lose to either jacksonville or NE

If you look at KC schedule I could easily seeing them lose the next 2 out of 3 games, Jacksonville will finish either 10-6 or 9-7 and I could see the Jets falling apart down the stretch and Cincy also has a tough schedule and will more then likely finish 8-8 or 9-7.

I think the Jets and Bills will both be non-factors down the stretch and I will be rooting against the Chiefs and Jags from here on out.

We have all AFC opponents in the remaining 5 games (3 AFC East). I think it is safe to say that between KC, Jax, Denver and everyone else, at least one of them will finish 10-6. That makes it tough for Miami (currently 2-5 vs. AFC opponents and 0-3 in the division) to get in at 9-7 (in theory would be 6-6 vs. AFC with loss against one AFC opponent in remaining 5 games). If we beat every AFC East team we will be 3-3 in the division. Really tough road to hoe.

I think we will be able to pull off the 10-8. The one team that I was really worried about was Indianapolis. Had they gone into the final week undefeated, they would have reason to play us to win. Now since they have lost a game, and will have home field advantage locked up, I think they will sit most of their starters. If Manning and Harrington sit, we should have a good chance. We owe Jacksonville after the pre-season loss, and we will pull some Miami magic out of our hats to beat NE. Jacksonville looks good, but their rec'rs have a case of the dropsies. Maybe they will drop a few into our defenders hands.
