to pick up a FA receiver like Jennings before the draft. IMO this would take some of the pressure on picking a wr in the first. Also, it may stop another team from trading in front of them to pick one of the top 3 wrs. I am being more sold on taking Gurley or Gorden in the first and one of the wrs that slips through the cracks in the second.

I can live with that. Do we have any money left?

I don't understand the crowd that wants to waste a first round pick on a running back. You'd be just as fine taking a running back in rounds 2-4.

When Gurley is being described as the best back since Peterson I'm in.

I think that would be smart. Even with a first rounder we still only have a second year player, a third year player new to us, a rookie, and a 4th year player that has never seen.much action. Great core for the future, maybe not great this year though.

I don't understand the crowd who doesn't realize how much of an elite talent Gurley can be

Gurley is the exception to the rule. He is that damned good.

If he checks out well and we feel he will return to his pre injury form we have to take a chance on him. Don't tell me you're not salivating at the thought of having him in the backfield. He literally does it all.

That being said, if we don't pick Gurley then I do not want to spend a pick on a RB this year. (I love Ajayi though)

its not really about taking a rb in the first.. its where do we need to pick to get gurley... i highly doubt he escapes the first unless theres some negative news recently on his health prior to the draft... he is a 1st round lock.. he is a beast.. id rather us be confident in getting a guy we want wherever he is.

Thats the scenario I envision now...particullarly with Miller on the last year of his rookie deal.

Gurley is an ELITE running back. He is Adrian Peterson type elite. That is why he's a 1st round lock even coming off an ACL injury.

I actually think Melvin Gordan is as well....different backs...flip of the coin who will be greater in the NFL....two elite runningbacks.

I like the idea of grabbing Gurley at 14. Would be extremely happy with either trading up for Cooper, or taking Parker or Gurley at 14. Go get Dorset in the 2nd or the best available ILB if Dorset is off the board.

Gordon doesn't pass protect as well as Gurley and has a lighter frame. I'm all in on Gurley, don't want anyone not named Gurley lol

There will be plenty of decent receivers out there when teams cut down to their final 53 man roster. I don't see why we have to focus on free agent wide receivers right now.
