I need a Mojito
After todays game, I think it's time that we start looking towards the future. No I'm not a terrible fan. I'm going to watch every game for the rest of the year, but anybody who thinks this team will make the playoffs is crazy. So here are a few thoughts for the rest of the season and the future.
Get some of the youngin's such as Roth, Vickerson, Alabi and ALLEN some more play time...A, we need to see what they got, and B, they need the experience.
I think that Joey can be our QB for the next 5-7 years. He's made two TERRIBLE passes the last two games, but if the WR's help him out a little today, he's the toast of the NFL. There were at least 3 first downs left on the field because of WR's.
Derek Hagan will be a very good #2 receiver for us. We just need to find that #1. Chris Chambers is a taller Az Hakim.
We'll probably have a top 5 pick this year. I look at Joe Thomas, Levi Brown, or possibly Calvin Johnson.
Crowder will be a 5-10 year pro bowler for us at MLB once Zach retires.
The draft next year needs to be defensive heavy once again. I'd like to see an offensive line of Rookie, Shelton, ? , Hadnot, Carey. I think that line can compete. A good veteran center should be a priority in the offseason. In the draft I'd like to see a left tackle, defensive lineman, and cornerback taken in the first three rounds.
This team is a huge disappointment, but the overall plan was not to be a great team this year. Right now things look bleak to be an even competitive team next year, but I still have faith. Last years draft picks look pretty good so far. This years picks have a lot to prove yet. I still have hope for the future though. Saban will make this team a winner.
