Quick question for everyone, wanted to get your perspective on the near future. Okay so the Ravens won last night, does that essentially hurt our chances to make the playoffs? Also, do you all think that there will be management or coaching changes if we miss the playoffs yet again, or will Ross (and his lack of football knowledge) stay the course?

Both teams (Bal/Pit) would have been 6-6 with a win last night. We wanted Baltimore to lose since we have already dropped our game against them and still have to play Pittsburgh. Kinda hurts the whole "we control our own destiny" thing.

I think we still control our destiny, but if we make the playoffs and Ireland keeps his job we'll be facing a bleak future...

We actually don't "control our destiny" when it comes to the 2013 playoffs. If we win out and the Ravens win out they are in.
Yet we "control our destiny" when it comes to Jeff Ireland, regardless if we make the playoffs or not.

If the Ravens drop a game, sure.

That's why I putted "I think", I don't think the Ravens are going to win out, they still have DET, NE and CIN to beat, all playoff teams, and other than NE we only have sub .500 ahead of us...

I'm now looking for Balt to win their division. Cinci dropping into the mix helps us, as we have beaten them, and Balt winning also helps because we lost to them.

I think we should wait untill the season plays out before we start firing people. After the seasons over there is still time for a new gm to run the draft, and coachs will start getting fired.

If we and Baltimore both win out, we get the final wild card, assuming Cincinnati loses at least 1 more game besides vs. BAL in week 17

We still need help to get in any way you want to slice it.. and thats assuming we win out (which in itself is a stretch).

Its a stretch for every team remaining though... ie: 9-7 to get in assumes a 5-6 team goes on a 4-1 stretch. TBH I wouldn't be surprised if the last spot got in at 8-8.

Agreed I think 8-8 could do it but games on the road for us late in the year in the cold not a good recipe for success IMO.

But baltimore's win last night helped us more than most fans realize. We need Baltimore to keep winning and take that division

We haven't controlled our own destiny since the Carolina loss. There are scenarios where we finish 5-0 and don't make it. That being said, if we do win out, very specific things would have to happen for us not to get in.

And Baltimore's win was not a positive, odds wise, as they hold a tie-breaker over us.
