Sack Monster
Mularkey's play calling was bad. Ronnie started to wear them on the go-ahead touchdown drive, and we were moving the ball pretty well on the ground. He suddenly went away from that. He called the exact same five-yard out twice in a row, the second of which was nearly intercepted. Most importantly, on the Dolphins last possession with the lead, he called an extremely predictable (and slow-developing) run play on third down and then we did not go for it on fourth. Fourth and short in the "maroon zone" is generally the difference between good teams and average teams. Those two plays were the epitome of conservative play calling. It reminded me almost exactly of last year against the Bills, where Mularkey's ridiculously predictable and extremely conservative play calling ultimately let the Dolphins come back from down 21.
Ten bucks says TMQ points to that drive as the turning point in the game.
