The Good the Bad and the Ugly Game Observations!

Ok lets start with the good.

We have offensive lineman with a pulse and a promising future.

Jake Long did well in his first test. He handled what the Bucs threw at him.

Donald Thomas looked good as well.

Ricky is back to being the Ricky of old for as long as his 31 year old legs will allow.

Ronnie got his first taste of being hit in a long time. Something to build on.

Chad Henne was extremely poised for his first pro game and did not look confused or befuddled and did not make the typical rookie mistakes. (so far).
I am extremely encouraged about our future QB prospects. I have not felt this way since Dan retired.

The DL has some prospects to build upon.

No major injuries!

Ok now the bad.

We scored no touchdowns that was awful!

Our recievers were terrible. No separation and many droped passes. YIKES. Can we say hello Terry Glenn or anyone with a pulse!

John Beck while improved from his early training camp bues still looks unsure of himself out there and appears skiddish.

We have NO depth on the OL other than Steve McKinney. SCARY!

Where is the Ted Ginn I saw at Ohio St?

Derek Hagen is a practice warror who dissapears in games and seems to always find a way to drop critical passes. He is living up to his draft profile and pre draft workout.

Almost no pass rush.

Ok now the Ugly!

Penalties Penalties Penalties.

Whereas the Bucs were playing mostly mistake free we were having mental lapses that were killing drives. That reminds me of last year a little too much.

I know, I know it was the first preseason game so I am not freaked out about it but, it is a little concerning compared to how the Bucs played their first game. I am just saying.

Anyway, just my observations of a lifelong Dolphin fan with hopes of one day Yelling we are world champions again out in the streets waking up my neighbors.

Dreams are nice!

Ok, what did/didn't ted ginn do? Someone please answer me, I swear its like he dropped 10 passes the way everyones all over him.

The answer is he was INVISIBLE. Not good for the 9th pick in the draft and a player supposedly known for being electrifying.

He has not been the player I saw watching the Ohio St. games.

I am not saying I have given up on him but damn show something.

ok, so there was no major drops? Fumbles? terrible miscommunication?

Being invisible is fine in a preseason game cause we don't do any gameplanning. As an offense, i bet they weren't even trying to get Ginn the ball. I mean I hear what you're saying i just, the way this board is tearing him new one right now I thought he actually did something bad.

even still, he needs to show up soon or later, and i'm pretty sure we all can agree on hoping for the sooner. he has the quickness, but he seems to get no seperation or when he does its late in the play.

oh and go LSU :hi5:

darn right go LSU. Least they give me hope consistently.

As for Ted, I think he'll be fine. I don't think you can judge a WR who isn't getting the ball. Imagine how conservative the playcalling was for this game. Essentially two rookie QBs played.

I hope so as of now he has shown very little. I have heard little about him in training camp as well. I hope this is by design and they are saving him for the regular season.

thats my favorite part of the preseason, every gets on here and acts like it is the super bowl, lol. i'm looking forward to some aggressive plays with ginn involved, i'm just hoping he can take the pressure. we should be eating up DB's w/ WR screens till they start to cheat up to the line. Just waiting to see someone put it into action now

I think Beck was ok, but unless he can correct how long he's holding on the ball and taking sacks he's just not going to last in the NFL. Thats by far his main problem right now.

couple things..
Henne might of sold me tonight
NO not because im going to buy into pre season hype but just how his arm looked..
i had a lot of ?'s if he had a nfl arm and he made some real nice throws..
Mauia made some real nice blocks i saw his put a couple guys on their backs and all i hear on here is how he cant block for nothing.
Wr's yes yes very bad..
O line... ehhhh
D line nice
Lb's with porter i like without there is no depth

watching the second half was like watching last year

I just do not Like Mauia especially after that arrest incident cold ****ing that guy and then running away and lying about it. Seems like a wanna be coward move to me.

Also, I like Grigsby's deameanor too much he is a spark plug.

Nice read Korl, I agree with most of it.

John Beck looks like a QB, but he never looks comfortable in games, I just don't know about him, I would like to see him stick around another year though and would prefer to keep him over McCown.

Henne impressed me, at this point I have to think he has a shot at starting.

Regarding Ginn, I don't know how much of his invisibility was his fault last night and how much of it belongs to Beck, I would like to see Henne with the first team. Also, was Barber covering Ginn?

Well I am of the opinion a great reciever will make great plays no matter who covers them. I know it is only his second year but I want to see more fire from him. I want to him demand the ball.

Our old WR coach (Robieski) made a statement about Ginn and I am paraphrasing " I am not sure if he is a #1 reciever or not he has the ability but I am just not sure"

I think on the Patriots team he would be dangerous but he has not shown me in he is a number one WR yet.

Uhh Except for the pass where he got 5 yards separation on Barber for a first down? lol

I know it's not a touchdown but come on, he wasn't invisible...
