The Good the Bad and the Ugly Game Observations!
Ok lets start with the good.
We have offensive lineman with a pulse and a promising future.
Jake Long did well in his first test. He handled what the Bucs threw at him.
Donald Thomas looked good as well.
Ricky is back to being the Ricky of old for as long as his 31 year old legs will allow.
Ronnie got his first taste of being hit in a long time. Something to build on.
Chad Henne was extremely poised for his first pro game and did not look confused or befuddled and did not make the typical rookie mistakes. (so far).
I am extremely encouraged about our future QB prospects. I have not felt this way since Dan retired.
The DL has some prospects to build upon.
No major injuries!
Ok now the bad.
We scored no touchdowns that was awful!
Our recievers were terrible. No separation and many droped passes. YIKES. Can we say hello Terry Glenn or anyone with a pulse!
John Beck while improved from his early training camp bues still looks unsure of himself out there and appears skiddish.
We have NO depth on the OL other than Steve McKinney. SCARY!
Where is the Ted Ginn I saw at Ohio St?
Derek Hagen is a practice warror who dissapears in games and seems to always find a way to drop critical passes. He is living up to his draft profile and pre draft workout.
Almost no pass rush.
Ok now the Ugly!
Penalties Penalties Penalties.
Whereas the Bucs were playing mostly mistake free we were having mental lapses that were killing drives. That reminds me of last year a little too much.
I know, I know it was the first preseason game so I am not freaked out about it but, it is a little concerning compared to how the Bucs played their first game. I am just saying.
Anyway, just my observations of a lifelong Dolphin fan with hopes of one day Yelling we are world champions again out in the streets waking up my neighbors.
Dreams are nice!
