The Herald says Gus see's himself as longterm answer at QB

Ok...I wont be thrilled to see Frerotte next year, but it wont be the worst thing. But if he is back the next year...where is my rope LOL

Did you read past the headline? Gus never said he was the long-term answer, he just said he's not worried about it. He gave the typical quarterback on the verge of being cut answer.

LOL!!! Gus' being this team's long term solution is about as likely as Richmond Webb coming back to anchor the o-line.

Gus can't be that delusional to think he is the LONG-term QB for this team at 34. In fact, I didn't even read that in the article. The writer is obviously misleading the public here. Gus is basically saying he wants to return next year and that is it.

I actually wouldn't mind keeping Frerotte around next year as our #2, unless it prevents us from getting our star QB some way

we all know he is no long term answer, but he has experience and knows the offense well, and the offense is making huge strides. i think he is here next year

Ya the press was just twisting stuff there I never heard him once say he is the future and crap like that he said he would like to be here next year but who wouldn't this is like his last oppurtunity to start with a quality offense before the end of his career.

I didn't see anything in that article that says that GUS see's himself as a long term solution. It says he would like to be back next season and beyond that, I didn't see him say anything else... The writer is putting words in Gus' mouth. My ideal world would be to get Cutler and have Gus start the season as the starter while Jay learns behind him and at some point either next year or the following, Jay is able to step in and take over for several years to come.

According to reports, Frerotte's salary changed to $6 million in 2006 based on a clause in his contract that stipulates the change if he were to start 14 games in 2005.

$6 million.:egads:
