Chicago Bears GM
Well the draft is so close yet so far. While every year is a new year I thought it would be fun to take a look at some of the best and worst #9 picks over the last 10 years.
1997: The Arizona Cardinals select: Tom Night
1998: The Jacksonville Jaguars select: Fred Taylor
1999: The Detroit Lions select: Chris Claiborne
2000: The Chicago Bears select: Brian Urlacher
2001: The Seattle Seahawks select: Koren Robinson
2002: The Jacksonville Jaguars select: John Henderson
2003: The Minnesota Vikings select: Kevin Williams
2004: The Jacksonville Jaguars select: Reggie Williams
2005: The Washington Redskins select: Carlos Rogers
2006: The Detroit Lions select: Ernie Sims
The Best:
Brian Urlacher
John Henderson
Kevin Williams
Fred Taylor
The worst:
Tom Night (I may be wrong, but I dont even know who he is)
The Decent:
Chris Claiborne
Koren Robinson
To Be Decided:
Ernie Sims
Carlos Rogers
Reggie Williams (though he needs to step up soon)
Overall it hasn't been a bad place to draft and teams over the last few years have gotten quality talent that has produced for them. Hopefully no matter what name is called this weekend we will continue the trend of good #9 picks.
