Here is a suggestion, why don't you name it after the man who built the damn thing - Joe Robbie Stadium!

In this Oct. 23, 2011 file photo, Sun Life Stadium is shown before the start of an NFL football game between the Miami Dolphins and the Denver Broncos, in Miami Gardens. Wilfredo Lee AP

Sun Life Stadium is no more.
No, not the actual building. That still sits, surrounded by cranes, on Don Shula Drive in Miami Gardens.
But the name of the facility, purchased by a Canadian-based financial services company in 2010?
That changed a month ago, when the contract between the Dolphins and Sun Life expired.

this is very very old news. fairly sure sun lfie said they wouldnt renew like 2 years ago and the team said they didnt want to sort another one while the stadium is a building site

Joe Robbie Stadium?

if I spent 400 million + of my own dollars on a stadium, no way in hell would I put someone elses name on it  and id like it even better if someone else would pay me millions to put a company name on it

In all seriousness, the team (like pretty much everyone else) has already said it will have a sponsor and really even if fans moan about it, they would be insane not to get one

It will always be Joe Robbie Stadium to me. :D

Joe Robbie Stadium?
Not going to happen. Stephen Ross is a businessman and the naming rights to the stadium are worth a very large amount. After putting over $450M into the upgrade, it's a safe bet that a new name will be announced when the project is completed.

The Tannenbowl. Ross has undeservedly given Tannenbaum everything else when it comes to this franchise. Might as well give him that too.

Anyone have some updated pictures of the renovations? I have not heard anything lately.

Didn't we already have another thread talking about how the stadium has no name right now? Or did it get merged with the sticky thread about the stadium?

Apparently I saw the stadium was going to be named Samsung Stadium. Maybe a false rumor?

We are exporting NFL games to China, Mexico, the UK, and pretty much any other country where we can make a quick buck.

You think they aren't going to sell the naming rights to the stadium?
