Ed reed,Ryan Clark,Nick Collins,Earl Thomas just to name a few.one thing that happens to a secondary when these guys are out of the game.the corners that you thought were pretty good look average(ike taylor).Sean smith isn't the best corner in the world,BUT a great safety to make up for those mishaps is somethin every team needs.so b4 we think about replacing smith, either A.find out if clemons or Jones can make strides to be that guy or B.an immediate need for one will be essential for our secondary to go to the next level. I am all about upgrading smith by the way.just somethin glaring I have been taking away when the free safety is either very bad or the starter isn't there.it makes the whole back end of the defense look worse than they probably are.any suggestions of how to go about upgrading that position?draft/free agency? Or reshad back as the starter.lol

There aren't really any in the draft this year, though. Now, were Dashon Goldson to get away from San Fran, we should definitely look into that.

What about MarkBarron. I would trade back a few spots, pick up a 3rd or 4th and take him. He is definately the real deal.

to be a great Safety, you have to be able to basically read plays before they happen, and quickly like lightning react when the Qb goes the other way...If this is the case, Sean Smith is not the answer, he is allways half a second behind, which probably tells me that it takes longer for him to red the play.

To be honest, I would target Coby Fleener at TE if we went that route.

I really would love for the Phins to get Fleener but if we only traded back a few spots that's still way too high for him
Pre-Combine. Wait until he gets there and runs a 4.5 or something.
