I hope the new front office looks very seriously at bringing him back.

He just turned 26, hasn't missed a start in three years and keeps a good core of young linemen in place with Satele and Carey.

I know he will get his money, but so will every other guard on the market. I don't believe there are many guards available that are better than him, especially with Andrews getting franchised by Cincy. And many of the guards that are available (Faneca, Jamar Nesbit) are 30-plus.

Sometimes, you're better off keeping what you have then trying to find something better. I hope they take that into account.

I agree. I like Rex and think he does a good enough job. I think we'll hit Lineman hard in the draft though, and some competition will be healthy and welcomed always.

Originall Mueller and Cam had begun talks with his agent. When the regime changed, those talks shut down for obvious reasons. Although there has been no word on the talks resuming. It is interesting that there has been no definitive move forward. Either we have no interest, or we allow him to see what the market will pay him.

To be honest, at this point I doubt he'd be back. Seeing as we only have I believe 5 O-linemen it would make sense to sure up this position now, rather than later.

Then again it could be b/c his contract ran out and we can't talk to him until the 29th. I'm not sure on that though.

The only thing I have seen lately was this little snippet from Barry Jackson's Sports Buzz Sunday in the Herald.

CHATTER

• Among prominent Dolphins free agents, management has expressed an interest in re-signing Yeremiah Bell, Jesse Chatman and Michael Lehan, but has shown no interest in Donnie Spragan and Chris Liwienski, and hasn't conveyed its intentions to Rex Hadnot and Cleo Lemon (whose agents will speak with the team at this week's NFL Combine).

maybe they wna give hadnot a wake up call of dont think about 6 mill if u wna stay here we aren't taht desperate, if he makes more hten 4 mill ima be reallly pissed off

you can't deny this guy has been a solid guard for us though. i say keep him

There's been no talk whatsoever, I can confirm that.

Also, Hadnot is going to get a contract in the $25/30 million region. At worst.

I would watch the tender on Detroit G Stephen Peterman. If it's low, I would expect us to move for him.

REsign Hadnot, get Faneca, and draft a couple of tackles in this draft and we have a winner! It all starts upfront and if you spend money wisely, its ussually on the guys in the trenches.

Re sign Rex IF we can get the right price. Rex played fairly well last year, but he still had way too many penaltys called on him. At this point, Rex should dominate, if he's ever going to, yet he had as many bad plays as good ones. Still Rome wasn't built in a day and you can't draft everyone this year. If Rex doesn't want to break the bank re-sign him.

while i agree he had some penalties at rg i have to take into concideration it was his first full yr at rg for the dolphins all along trying to help satele acclamate himself in the league as a rookie center. to me he did a good enough job to get signed up but thats one guys opinion.

IMO he is the most important FA resigning we have.
