It is hard to stay on this board in the off season, as there are way to many delusional Dolphans. So I wanted to make a list of things that there is no way could happen just in case anyone wants to fantasize.

1. Pennington can not equal draft picks.
2. Ronnie Brown is not going to get us another 1st round pick. I love him, but he has been on the IR twice, has one 1000 yard season, and RB is the easiest position to fill in the NFL.
3. The only way we can move up in the draft is if we give other draft picks be it this year or next. This is not something Bill normally does.
4. Ginn has no trade value. At most a team might give us a 6th for his KR return ability, but doubtful.
5. Parcels has picked one WR in the 1st round in his career. He picks defense often and early. LBs and DE are his favorite spots to fill in the draft. He also does not ignore bad defenses, and we had the 7th worst D in points and 11th worst in yards. Unless he signs 2-3 top teir FAs on D our first pick will be a LB, NT, or FS.
6. Bundling a bunch of guys we would probably will cut will not equal draft picks.

That is what I got for now, but I am sure I am missing some of the outlandish things you hear every off season, so feel free to add.

I'm pulling for either Rolando McClain or Earl Thomas. I wouldn't be surprised if BP chose a pass rusher (OLB/DE) with our pick, either. He knows that a good pass rush will alleviate breakdowns in the secondary... For example, how the Vikings pass rush was able to dominate Romo and make their secondary look like All-Pros, when in reality, they were riddled with injuries.

1. No one suggested trading Pennington.
2. No one has said Ronnie = 1st round pick in a trade.
3. Ireland and Sparano are the drafters.
4. True.
5. Same as #3.
6. Probably true. Although I think Ayodele, Ginn, and Porter could net some picks.

Exactly right Bro, saved me some typing...Thanks!!

Accurate.

In regards to number 5 especially it's time for Parcells/Ireland to show that they are worth the money we have invested in them. Top tier free agents needs to be a serious part of this offense because Tony Sparano himself said mediocrity is unacceptable. So i will not sit through another off-season of Sean Ryan, Reggie Torbor and David Kircus type talent. This team has serious talent issues, and we need to address them with TALENTED players. I'm satisfied with what we've gotten in the draft under Parcells watch, but now it's time to add that and truly build this football team into one that can compete legitimately for the AFC Championship, as the Jets did, and has the Patriots have always done.

That there's funny, I don't care who ya are ... & its only the tip of the iceberg.

Observation & analysis are somewhat rare. What I find "outlandish" is everyone predicting the future & arguing about what might happen. i.e. The varied Nostra-dumb-az debates for years ... i.e. Will Ginn become a #1. They stuck their tongue on that frozen Cam Fall-Forward too.

The Dilbert principle won't allow them to change.
Scott Adams said everyone loved Dilbert, even all the managers ... because everyone saw the problem as someone else & not themselves.

Now .... if we can package Ginn, Jason Allen, & a 5th round pick for a sack of dog-doo, then trade that for Palamalu, then trade him for picks .... etc. etc. blah, blah, blah ... we can end up with the entire Pro Bowl lineup. What do you think? :lol2:

Thank you to the OP. Rational thoughts are rare around here.

Yea I have let it get to me once or twice since I have been a member but for the most part I just exercise my right to hit the "back button" and find a better thread to read.

The only people suggesting trading Pennington are the same ones suggesting Ed Reed should be DC, same as trading Ronnie and getting a 1st back. And you really think Parcells is completely controlling our drafts? Okay then. You obviously missed his "hands off" approach these past two years then.

Don't mistake "out of the spotlight" for "hands off". Huizenga didn't bring him in to play the ponies and golf.

I think he's just guiding them along, but lets them have the final say. But neither of us really know how far he goes with this.
