"Jets | Rumor alert: team moving up to No. 1
Sun, 26 Feb 2006 18:53:02 -0800

Vic Carucci, of NFL.com, reports one rumor making the rounds at the NFL Combine was the New York Jets trading with the Houston Texans to acquire the No. 1 pick so they can select a quarterback to replace QB Chad Pennington. As the rumor goes, the Jets supposedly covet former USC QB Matt Leinart."

If this happens, it'll be HUGE! It changes the face of the draft. The New York Jets could very well send the Texans, Mawae, their first, and say second. The Jets would take Leinart. Once that happens, do the Saints take Bush or draft Vince Young? The remaining guy would go to Tennessee and the Texans would take D'Brick. Green Bay, San Fran, and Oakland all have young quarterbacks, though Oakland could still draft Cutler because Walters doesn't cost much. Of course, I'm just speculating.

Looks more and more like Miami will get another position filled, quarterbacks may not make it that long. Hopefully Miami can get Croyle or Whitehurst in the 2nd or 3rd, and Brees for the here and now.

I was listening to ESPN radio and they said that Herman Edwards is thinking of bringing Chad Pennington with him to KC....I think Leinart will go to the Titans or the Jets....you have to wonder who the Jets would then take? Cutler, Young, maybe D'Brickashaw?

I remember reading some where that the Jets don't want Leinart because his weak arm reminds them of Pennington. I think it was on PFT. Besides why would the Texans take Mawae, they're going to have a chance to get for free once FA starts.

If we sign Drew Brees ir will not be for the "here and now". He's only 27 years old and we'll be giving him a large amount of money. If he becomes a Dolphin he'll be a starter for the next 5-7 years.

If anyone makes a move to the #1 spot it will be for Cutler in my opinion.
