The Jets defense finished #4 best overall in the NFL….

He probably was timid and held onto the ball because he was told to avoid making any mistakes, something Teddy wouldn't have been able to do. I'm sure if Skylar has to play against the Bills, he will be told to be a little more risky.
If he’s starting…McDaniel should make him watch the Viking game before he got knocked out…he was lighting them up and got derailed by stupid penalties and mistakes (drops).

I don't care if they were the 85 Bears defense. Skylar played like absolute ass PERIOD! His 2 biggest throws were floaters that were lucky to reach the receiver. The team carried him PERIOD! Good lawd please stop trying to polish a turd because that is what he laid, a big fat turd!

Having to face the Jets twice is a ridiculously difficult task for a rookie QB. Buffalo would actually be easier.

I think some of yall just parrot what others say here. I didnt think Skyler played that scared. Yeah he had some llays that he was rushed. He had two starting o linemen out yesterday. Some of yall harp that excuse for Tua but when it comes to ST, nope... he made solid throws on the move when he had to. He hit waddle for a huge gain when the game mattered. He hit Hill on the run a few times. He hit our te's pretty well while staying in the pocket and getting smoked.

Yes he left plays on the field but that's expected for someone drafted at his position when he was.

Overall I think he is receiving way too much heat here. I mean, the kid snapped our 5 game losing streak led by yours truly... Tua!!!!! So lay off the kid a little bit.

I think he should get the start

The issue with Sklar is that he hesitates and holds on to the ball far too long. This results in broken plays and sacks. Yes, we got the win and that’s great. However, he doesn’t look like an nfl caliber player.
I'm sure he heard the phrase "make no mistakes" the entire week of practice and that kept him on the very conservative side. I think he did exactly what he needed to do. The same plan won't work next week against a much better O.

He completed one and the other his arm was hit.

I can’t help you if you don’t understand that facing a top defense without the all-pro left tackle Tua’s had all year is a tough situation for a young QB still learning the speed of the game!

The game at some point slows down for every young QB (unless they are busts).

Obviously he is not at the point yet!
this weekend! ..even if he wants to get excited, the 0 degree forecast will keep him in check. book it!

It's hilarious to hear the people that crush Tua each and every week, regardless of how he plays, come here and hype up a guy who looked lost for 60 minutes. We can all give him props for not losing the game, but let's not act like he shredded the Jets. He missed open guys all day, held the ball too long and barely used his legs. Luckily we were playing Joe Flacco and 9 points was enough to win the game.

I wouldn’t mind Skylar going into next season as Tua’s primary backup. That said…man he looked terrified most of the game. Think he knew the drill and just made sure not to turn it over on our side of the field.

I’m thinking a lot of that was probably the gameplan by McDaniel… like just don’t lose the game Skylar. Especially after Two Gloves lost the New England game with a pick 6.

And I don’t think Skylar ran much to avoid injury because who was going to come in and replace him if he got hurt, Glennon? Lol

he didn't shred the jets and he was scared stiff out there. zero doubt about it. huge stage. but - he pulled it off. i don't know who the tua crusher's are vs the skylar pumpers.... i'm just glad we're in the playoffs and i know our track record with the jills. we can do this. WE'RE GONNA DO THIS!!!!

Next season will be tough in the division. The other three all have really good D at this point (although Buffalo has been questionable at times).

I can't help you if you can't see the guy can't get past his first read in a progression. He stares at it, even if open failed to throw. He had 1 RB with 4.5 yards a carry and another with 7 yards a carry and over 160 yards rushing to support him. He had several chances to run for big plays and didn't. It was by far one of the most uncomfortable displays at QB I have ever seen. Anyone who watched that game saw a scared kid. I am glad we won, so don't get me wrong but it is freaking hilarious anyone who heaps praise because he simply didn't turn the ball over. 4.9 yards per pass is absolutely PATHETIC. Any half way decent team would have whooped our ass....we got lucky we were playing a team that was worst than us. Also great defenses don't give up 162 yards on the ground at 5.1 yards a pop.

Let me say he didn’t do anything to take them out of that number 4 position, it is what it is. He didn’t turn the ball over and we got the win. He’s going to actually do more than what he did this week otherwise we’ll get our **** pushed in. His processor is slow and has to improve otherwise he’s destined for mop up duty on the scout team.
