So we couldn't stop the spread offense. Whatever.. it isn't anything I didn't know and most of us deep down inside anyway. 'Zona did the same thing to us...anyway I digress...

So yeah the jets. Well if we can beat buffalo and run the table, the jets marching to the number two seed could be the best thing in terms of us trying to get into the playoffs..

Why you ask? Well it is simple. They won't play their stars if they are the number two seed. That should mean that we see no favre, washington, jones, etc. Maybe the first quarter but if they lock up the 2nd seed, that is unlikely.

That leaves us to run the table and hope NE loses to the Steelers. The stupid eagles helped drive a nail into our coffin with their lame attempt at the ravens BUT they still have a brutal schedule to go. I personally believe that the colts will get one of the wild card unless something happens to manning. They have a fairly weak schedule. That leaves US, balt and NE vying for the last wildcard spot. Buffalo is there but their divisional record all but excludes them. I can see NE losing to the pass happy cardinals too as well as being played tough against buffalo.

That being said, we MUST win out to get it. The season is NOW on the line. Let's see if guys like bess and some other diamonds in the rough emerge.

Just remember for every randy moss, there emerges a tom brady. Let's see if we have a few guys who want to really be around next year and step up and replace camarillo and help us move forward.

Really nice post and i agree with everything you said. Were not out of it yet so lets hope for win after win after win and so on and so on....

I also agree with everything. The Ravens have the toughest schedule between them, us, and NE. The Colts will probably get the other spot so I am counting them in already as early as it is and I do hope I am proven wrong. Then I would count the Ravens out because of their schedule. So that would leave us and NE fighting for the last spot.

Well put, I agree even though the thought of the Jets winning the division makes me sick.

i see where ur coming from here, but heres the thing. if the jets do have the 2nd seed locked up, there is no guarentee they will rest there starters for sure because over the past few years teams have done that and wat tends to happen sometimes is you lose some rhythm with not having ur players play for what would be 2 weeks straight in the jets case if they did that, and if you look at teams who have done that in the past few seasons, like the bucs last year, the colts last year, the cowboys, etc it can hurt you sometimes. i think there can be a reason why so many wildcard teams have won the superbowl lately because momentum is a huge thing, and when you give players a lot of time off in between, it can sometimes have a negative effect. that being said, i do think the jets would prob play there starters for at least the first half if not into the 3rd quarter if that were the case.

I can see where your coming from but the jets without favre are immensely different than with. I don't think they would risk him if they had a bye week (2nd seed) locked up. Lose thomas jones and now you have washington only for the long haul. I just don't think the jets would risk their offensive players if they locked up the 2nd seed.

Remember this. There is a huge difference between a team who is backed into the corner fighting for the last playoff spot and one that is complacent because they are guaranteed to go home for the winter after this game is done. That is more than likely the exact scenario we will see. Sparano WILL have us ready in that situation.

IF WE RUN THE TABLE AND THE JETS HAVE THE DIVISION LOCK UP AND THEY DARE PLAY THEIR PLAYERS PAST THE FIRST QUARTER,YOU HIT THEM IN THE MOUTH AND MAKE THEM THInk TWICE ABOUT IT.

I am totally sorry for what I am about to say but…

I cannot ever be happy about the jets winning the division.

My hopes are that their corpse festers and rots in the cellar until the owner changes their name to Las Vegas and they move that miserable excuse for a team to another division.

I do not like the team, the colors, the owner, the players or their fans and if they made a law to wipe out all historical references to the team I would celebrate by buying myself a new car. I do not ever, EVER want the jets fans to have ANY type of leverage to be able to say their team is anything other than a sad excuse for a group of talentless hacks the NFL has ever seen during the leagues entire 100 years of existence

To see the jets win the division again is akin to kicking me in the groin taking my dog and steeling my xbox- there is absolutly NOTHING that will make that right

The jets hate the fins. I doubt they will take a loss.

It isn't so much about taking a loss but you don't put your stars in harms way when you have a ticket to the 2nd round of the playoffs right off the bat.

I don't know, mangini comes from the Parcells/Belichick school of coaching and those guys don't believe in resting their guys like Indy typically does or like TB did last year. I know NE did it for a half in '05 but I think they were banged up. Unless we have some injuries I don't think he'll rest his starters b/c then it would be 3 weeks btw competitive action for those players.

It would be real stupid to not rest old man Farve if the division is locked up by then. He doesn't recover as quickly any more and Porter may just make him a turf sandwich.
How would NY'ers handle losing Favre in a meaningless game for the entire playoffs. Doesn't make any sense to me.

Dude,

Don't hold back! Tell us how you REALLY feel. Supressing your feelings can lead to all sorts of bad things, like heart attack, stroke, etc.

You must EXPRESS yourself!

I thought about this on the way to work this morning. Also consider this, if the Jets lose once and the Steelers jump them, then maybe on the final weekend the Jets are locked into being the #3 seed. If that's the case, then if they know they might face us again as the #6 seed, they may not use a lot of their playbook and just wait until the playoff game to step it up. They know we would be fighting for the playoff spot so we would have to use everything.
