I Just wanted to give a heads up to those who haven't heard. It's on the 'Total Access" segment @ 7pm eastern time. Sorry for those who don't get the channel, but I and I'm sure others will let you guys know what was said, though I'm sure it's nothing new. Probably the same stuff we've discussed here today about what Sparano said etc...

FOund it interesting that Shefter said that Miami was responsible for the news today and that they were putting it out there to send a message to JT. He made it sound like JT had little input on the matter and Miami is pushing him out. Drew comparisons to Parcells previous handling of star players when he arrived on scene.

I personally do not believe this is just Miami trying to send a message to JT. I believe JT wants out and communicated this through his agent.

EDIT: Fran Charles just confirmed JT's agent asked for trade. Why the comments from the normally unbiased Shefter?

If what schefter said is indeed true, then the plot thickens. Players agents are known to ask for trades, especially if a player is getting old, and it's not surprising to know JT's agent may have been asking for a trade since before the draft. But what I really want to know is if JT came out and said something today or yesterday about wanting to be traded.

If this is a move in part of our FO, then it may not be good move at all. I still wouldn;t blame our FO, though, they are quickly losing patience for JT and I don;t blame them. I mean, c'mon, the dancing is over, lets began the real dancing on the field.

Amen brother......I couldn't agree more.

I think when JT decided to pass on this weeks OTA's so he could go on some TV show, that's what lead to this situation. I think the coaches decided if JT is going to continue to do what he wants to do then the coaches feel that's not condusive to the direction of this team.

Here's the way I see things and really there can't be any other conclusion based on what we know. JT's talent level, health and experience makes him a very important member of this team. The FO and coaching staff may have considered trading JT this off season, but maybe what was offered wouldn't have been enough considering what JT brings to the table, so in the end it was a smarter business decision to keep JT then trade him. That could very well be the reason we didn't trade him on or before the draft.

The coaching staff may have been willing to overlook JT's decision to dance if he in return would be willing to return to the team when the dancing was over. JT then decides to remain on the West coast longer to fulfill some post football career business. The coaching staff then decided to move on without JT and informed him to stay in Cali and the Dolphins would re-enter negotiation with teams about a trade and when a trade is complete they will contact him and let him know their decision. Meanwhile JT will continue to get paid, even thought he will not be attending camp because it was an executive decision rather then JT simply holding out over a contract dispute.

That's how I see things going down over the last 24 hours.

I totally agree with the reason you referred to in that line and I pretty much feel the same way about what's gone down as of recent.

I'd be willing to bet your asessment is pretty dang close to the FO's thought process. I think the interviews, particulary the Sunday Conversation where he stated acting is more important than football, made up the FO's mind.
We heard second hand accounts of how Parcells treated Taylor, but we heard directly from Taylor's mouth his displeasure with the situation as well as his passions/desires outside football. Everytime stories came out in the media that fueled the JT/BP rift story, it was because Taylor could not keep quiet. I personally cannot recall Parcells, Ireland, or Sparano contributing to the rumors JT was on his way out. They actually spoke to the contrary. Taylor was the source and was quickly becoming a distraction for the team. If you do not think it was that big of a distraction, go to the team website and see how annoyed Vonnie, JP, and Ferguson were to get the JT questions.
I believe the front office finally decided enough was enough and JT will not be pandered to. Cannot fault them, they are changing cultures and JT was not falling in line.

I think the only reason the FO made the announcement today was because Jason lost Dancing with the stars last night.

JT clearly said he would be back with the team when DWTS was done. Now he's not here. He's a liar and it's good to see the FO is not going to put up with his crap.
