These are the kinds of deals that make free agency so tough

$50 million for a guy that really hasn't ever produced a great season and is coming off ACL surgey. I guess he's got talent and I agree with locking up your own, but with the lack of good young free agents and teams with more cap space than any year I can remember, we're going to see some huge numbers. Thank god its Parcells calling the shots for us and not Al Davis lol!

For the record, I'm not in favor of breakering the bank on Samuel or even Flozell for that matter. I hope we can pick up a guy like Smiley for a long term deal in the $25 million range. He's young enough, had been productive, but still has upside.

Yeah the Raiders have really got me scratching my head so far his offseason. Putting Huff on the block and now this? Whats next, they draft Matt Ryan?

The money is a bit much, but I was hoping that the Phins would make a run at Kelly. He's good against the run and has the size and versatility to play DT or DE in a 3/4.

Expect there to be alot of head scratcher contracts signed this offseason. Every year players and their agents try to outdue the prior year, if you thought Dockery's contract was extreme, wait until you see what some of this years 2nd tier FA's pull in.

Al Davis needs to lay off the crack pipe...no wait, we need to be on the phone with his crazy butt and make a "fair" trade while he still has his swerve on!

Oakland's first and second this year, thier first next year, and Huff sound about right? If he balks at that, tell him we will send him some Honeybells in January and a signed picture of Bob Griese. HAHAHAHAHA

I live out here so I've seen Kelly play. He's good, no doubt, but he's certainly not great yet and he's coming off a major injury. These are the kinds of deals that set the bar so you can see where guys who have track records-- MOss, Samuel, Faneca are really going to expect to get paid. In some sense, they almost become the better value since the second tier guys are also gonna get huge deals. Not that I'm endorsing us to sign any of those 3, but it won't be bad for someone...

LMAO instead locking up Their franchise conerback longterm they lock up this guy. I am glad we have Parcells and Ireland running things and they won't overpaid for the likes of Rex Hadnot who can be easily replace.
