Below is the list of the last 5 teams to go 1-15 and their records the following year:

Carolina
2001: 1-15
2002: 7-9

San Diego
2000: 1-15
2001: 5-11

New York Jets
1996: 1-15
1997: 9-7 (Coached by Parcells)

Indianapolis:
1991: 1-15
1992: 9-7

New England
1990: 1-15
1991: 6-10

Some tidbits... The average season for these teams after going 1-15 is 7-9. All of the teams above have made to at least their conference championship game since going 1-15. Three of the teams have gone to Superbowl since going 1-15 and two have won Superbowls...

Hopefully the Fins can turn things around and in a couple of years we can look at the 1-15 season as a blessing in disguise

Don't forget how many close games we had, including the eventual superbowl champs. I can really see 8-8 9-7.

Good work, it's not a guarantee for success, but there's also no guarantee for failure as many want us to believe there will be.

and if we were to wear the aqua jerseys more then 1 game we might win more games too. it would be hilarious if we wore the orange ones for 3 games and the aqua ones for 4 games we might go 9-7

How refreshing to read a semi-postive post. I was getting tired of hearing how we're only going to win 3 games. Negativity is contagious... but so is winning.

You know as fans we have no say and absolutely no influence on what happens on the field.

Whether you are positive or negative what ever happens is still going to happen!

I hope for the best and prepare for the worst!

I guess after a 1-15 season, everybody sees it's time for a major shake up. If they did any better (instead of 1-15) there would be that "we're almost there" and "couple of pieces away" mentality.

I know what you mean but on a large scale, negative fan attitude can have a negative effect on a franchise.

I always expect and prepare to win!

Good point. I've often wondered exactly what threshold of losing would have prompted WH to give RandyCam another year. I feel minimally a 4-12 season might well have kept them on board but on a tight leash. In any case, if it took last season's record to assemble the FO we now have (verdict's always out on an unproven HC and staff but I have high hopes), then IMO it qualifies under the old truism of "Present pain for future Gain."

and i think we're going to see that pattern continue here, i seriously cant imagine the Dolphins this year would be any worse than 5-11.

Correct me if I am wrong but didnt the Cowboys go 1 -15? I thought Jimmy Johnson's first year there they had a horrible season wining only one game against the Redskins. Maybe they went 2 -14. Oh well I just thought they were missing from the list.

Good information in any case.

No you are right, but since it was '89 when they went 1-15 they wouldn't be in the last 5 teams

1989: 1-15 (Jimmy's first year, Herschel traded in mid-season)
1990: 7-9

Nice 2 See!! Specially When One Of The 9-7 Teams Belong 2 The Tuna
