...we went to the playoffs. Chad Pennington coming off of surgery as well. And he never had a strong arm to begin with.

Some will argue that Pennington only lasted fully that year and was injured in subsequent seasons. To that I say he was always injury prone. Manning's never really been that injured outside of the neck.

Not to mention, if Manning comes in for 2-3 years, he's going to be helping our second stringer and QB of the future. That's some incredibly valuable knowledge being tossed around. I for one see no problem in having him tutor Matt Moore and whomever our next young QB will be.

It's OK to have a stop gap if that QB happens to be the greatest fricking QB of our generation. And let's say he IS healthy, then he's gonna make everyone eat their words for everything they've said....starting with Armando.

I think some people over play the "great QB will help the backup QB" argument. How did the Colts QB's do when Peyton went down? And he was still there to help them. I'm not saying I don't want Peyton in Miami because I do but I'm just not sure him coming here helps us get set up for the future at QB.

You forgot about the previous 3 times. Need I remind you of Gus "Headbanger" Frerotte, Daunte "Fins Doctors Are Idiots" Culpepper, and Trent "Scrambled Green Eggs and Ham"?

EDIT: Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot another one to add to that list, in the form of Joey "What Heisman candidate?" Harrington.

Those were all trades except for Frerotte.

Well if we're looking for lightning to strike twice then why not draft a QB in the 6th round and hope he's the next Tom Brady?

OR...the last two times we've taken a QB in the first round they went to the hall of fame.

I wish I could be sitting next to Tom Brady when "Manning to Miami" scrolls across the bottom of the screen on SportsCenter.
